Early 2011. I'm overall in a pretty bad place. Sick almost all the time from an as of yet undiagnosed autoimmune disease. I'm depressed and lonely, having lost touch with most of my old friends and not made many new ones. I didn't have a lot of good things going for me. During this same time, Parks and Recreation was running it's nearly flawless third season. Watching the show gave me as much joy and comfort as anything else. Not any TV show. Anything, period. It blended together laugh out loud funny with genuinely heartwarming moments, while avoiding being too cheesy and constantly surprising me. It may not be the best I've ever seen, but no other show has ever been closer to my heart or meant more to me personally. I cried while watching the episode last night. I cried when it ended with a tribute to Harris Wittels. I cried today when reading other people's thoughts and reactions to the finale. For years, I've had a true feeling of community with other fans of the show, on the AVClub, or Alan Sepinwall's comment section, or just strangers on twitter who will fave your tweet about Jim O'Heir. I've bonded with people in real life, and even with people here over the show. As Leslie Knope would say, you just have to find your team. And I found a team of like minded people, who just want to laugh and feel happy and optimistic. Losing this show is like losing a family, because it was a family. I felt a connection to the actors, the writers, the characters, other fans, on a level that I've never felt before and I'm doubtful I ever will again. Today is a sad day, but I'm happy and grateful that I got 7 seasons of this amazing show. As for this You don't have to like the show, and you are free to openly express that. But there is a time and a place, and that time and place is not the day after the show ended, in a thread specifically designed to commemorate it's ending. At best it comes across as unintentionally insensitive, at worst it's being a deliberate asshole towards people who are legitimately mourning over something. It's uncalled for, and I think you're better than that. Now if you'll all excuse me,

I didn't realize you have an autoimmune disease, Willis. Solidarity. Which one, if you don't mind me asking?

My brother potato ing pwns. I'm not even biased or anything, but he's the best person on this whole site. No offense everyone else.
I was told that there's a Game of Thrones spoiler in one of the first episodes of this newest set and I'm aaaalmost caught up with Game of Thrones so then finishing Parks and Rec is next on my agenda.

I stopped watching after the aforementioned flawless 3rd season 'cause I knew it could only go downhill from there. Also, I don't want to know what happens to all the characters in the future. My favorite part of sitcoms is the fact that they're set in these static cartoon universes where people never age or change in the slightest.

I cried while watching the episode last night. I cried when it ended with a tribute to Harris Wittels. You once asked me who my favourite CBB guest was and I knew straight away that it was Harris Wittels. I've never really been affected by a "celebrity" death before this past weekend. It was a real gut punch when I heard the news, and I didn't even believe it at first. It's not that I was surprised as such, but it's also not to say that I was expecting it. I actually felt like I had lost a friend. When I saw Farts & Pro 4 come up in my feed I thought it would be a tribute, a "best of" highlight reel. But then I heard Scott's intro and I lost it. I'm so glad it was released because at the end of the day motherpotato ers wanna laugh. The voicemail from heaven made me lose it all over again. It was always going to be hard to say goodbye to Pawnee and the Parks and Rec gang but I didn't think I'd have to say goodbye to Harris too. I'll miss them.

You're overstating my merits but it makes me feel warm and loved and I like those feelings so thank you. I can't wait until you get to the "Game of Thrones Spoiler" and see what it is. None taken. I refuse to be offended by the truth. I'll own that I'm wholly biased in saying Willis is infinitely amazing, and better than pretty much everyone! I was literally talking to Elizabeth like 2 days ago about how great I think you are. You're also overselling me but it does make me feel wonderful so thank you. It's all good.
