This being a report of various and sundry occurrences taking place at Black Cat Coffee (Stain'd-by-the-Sea, corner of Caravan and Parfait) concerning Ellington Feint and Dashiell Qwerty, that occurred during Lemony Snicket's apprenticeship in said town. Certainly a unique interpretation, atmospherically-written. Are there yet further occurrences in the offing, or is this the only evidence we're likely to receive?

Thank you! There will be at least two more occurrences, possibly three (depending on what is revealed in ?4).

Very interesting! So your name is not actually Ellington Feint? Well, I guess that there was always reason to be suspicious of such a mysterious character.
And when you come to think of it, this is not implausible - we think of E and Q as being of different generations, but in fact there cannot be many years between them. And well-spaced-out families are not unknown in the world of Snicket.

Things are beginning to become clear; I see now why you chose this premise, and why the fourth and final occurrence depends on what happens in ?4. It's another side to the series; what the other characters were doing with their own complex lives when we're just seeing Snicket's part of the picture. Ellington and Qwerty's relationship is developed a bit further, and we can see why things are difficult between them for more reasons than you'd just assume. I'll be watching for the next installment.

Yes, it's always interesting to see scenes that the narrator wasn't there for, and probably doesn't know about. It reminds me of what Olaf said to the Baudelaires in TE, about how he didn't sit in his house just waiting for the Baudelaires to arrive. The world, even in fiction, is complex and not everything revolves around the main character.
