Violet and Klaus have been cast for the Netflix series

Violet is being played by Malina Weissman, who apparently has a recurring role on Supergirl.
Klaus is Louis Hynes, who seems to be new to the world of television, but based on a quick Google search is presumably this young gentleman featured in a 2015 performance of Richard Strauss's opera Intermezzo.

I watch Supergirl, and the girl is decent for how young she is. I think her appearance is very Violet-like and I like that they're going with someone who's actually a kid and not a 20-year-old. So... I approve of the choice.

I am happy with the casting. They look like innocent children rather then 19 year old's pretending to be innocent children.

Hynes looks perfect for the role imo, and he can obviously work the right costume style. Weissman looks fine I guess, but I haven't seen any of her work before so I'll reserve judgement for now.

The only thing I'm annoyed about is that our four leads are white. Yay. They better amp up the diversity with the rest of the cast.

I feel like there's a possibility for anyone else to be non-caucasian. And I'm fairly sure Handler-Netflix will take those opportunities. If you take the only Netflix shows I've ever seen, Kimmy Schmidt and OITNB, they both had white (Jewish?) leads, yet managed to maintain a great degree of racial diversity. I'm sure it'll be fine!!

I like the Klaus boy. The Violet actress seems a bit too much like a spoilt child actress to me, but she's an actress, so I guess she will be okay.

Violet does look a bit like a squashed Emily Browning. It's interesting how the Violet actors are both round-faced and pretty, although I assume the resemblance is a coincidence.
