I did some digging online because a number of articles claimed that filming was supposed to begin in March, and found this. It took a while of searching for stuff filming in Vancouver to find it, but I guess not. www.creativebc.com/crbc-services/motion-picture-services/in-production. It seems legit, because I found another site with the same information about shows filming in Vancouver. Plus, I think that had it begun filming this month, we would have seen supporting evidence, that the actors are in Vancouver. Believe me I search for news for the ASOUE show multiple times a day lol. It's on the list if you use Ctrl+F and type in A Series Of Unfortunate Events, you'll find it faster. Anyway it says its going to film from April 4th to August 12th. That sucks though because I wish this board was more active.

Thank you for sharing the results of your research with us : )
Also, I still find it cool that they're producing it under 'Olaf Production, Inc'

an episode of tv usually takes a little over a week to film. four months of shooting = 16 weeks
we're totally getting a 13 episode season.

This is very cool news, and it's great that 13 episodes is essentially official! Thank you for sharing and your dedication to research. I'm sure this board will get more active as more information gets released. I can't wait!!!

Was the 13 episodes ever in question? Not only is the number significant to this series, but the vast majority of the Netflix original series have 13-episode seasons.

Thats not true for all tv shows though, doctor who for example takes about 9-10 months to shoot 13x45 minute episodes, plus it depends on how long the episodes are.. bu

Mr. Handler's Twitter has also retweeted a tweet indicating that filming may start April Fool's Day. Or close enough, I guess. I seem to recall they extended the open casting by a little way, so perhaps a delay isn't surprising.

It's obviously traditional for TV shows to come out after the entire series has been filmed, but I know it's also a practice for TV series to come out while filming for later episodes is still going on. I'm imagining this to come out in August/September (although I have nothing to back this notion- it's just comfortable), but sooner than August is not impossible.

I hope September too I really don't want to wait any longer than that lol. Hopefully they'll be done editing the episodes by the end of August, making it ready for release by September hopefully.

Network TV often begins airing the season before the final episodes are finished filming/being edited, but not Netflix, since it releases an entire season in one chunk. So if filming ends in August I highly doubt it'll be ready in September.

Oh yes, that's something I didn't consider! I'm quite happy to wait for it to be released in 2017 if need be, as the promotional period will be exciting enough

That's true, and it would suck if they rushed it too much.

I think it was terry who suggested an arg, which would be cool, but even if they don't go to that amount of trouble, they could do a lot of amusing stuff with, idk, even just an email list like atwq had. I will also be ruthlessly comparing their first teaser to the fake one.
