Hang on - I thought The End was meant to be an extended length special?

The British Board of Film Classification have uploaded their rating of Season 3 - PG (UK) - and in doing so, have also revealed the runtimes of every single episode: The Slippery Slope: Part One - 43 minutes, 3 seconds
The Slippery Slope: Part Two - 43 minutes, 33 seconds
The Grim Grotto: Part One - 43 minutes, 57 seconds
The Grim Grotto: Part Two - 35 minutes, 47 seconds
The Penultimate Peril: Part One - 54 minutes, 25 seconds
The Penultimate Peril: Part Two - 51 minutes, 11 seconds
The End - 51 minutes, 39 seconds
I misread The End as being 39 seconds. And I thought The Grim Grotto: Part Two was short!

Hang on - I thought The End was meant to be an extended length special? We've known for a long time that it was going to be only a single episode, but I think the idea of it being an extended length was more of an assumption; I'm not sure there was ever any official backing for it.

For anyone with Facebook Messenger, search the gif bar for all words ASOUE related. I’ve found at least 40 Season 3 gifs from new scenes including a white faced woman calling someone a snowflake, Esme stating Olaf is ‘out’ and Esme and Olaf practicing their laughs in the Grim grotto.

Wow! Great find, those were fun to watch. Olaf is keeping his fake laugh and I love it.

I'm very happy that so many people have been mentioning ATWQ as a follow-up in a lot of the press for Season 3, though I am somewhat less happy (though understanding of why) so few of the cast and crew have considered it as a possibility. Although if Netflix -or some other streaming service- does decide to make another Lemony Snicket show, I'm hoping that it will be something original, or that if it is based on something like ATWQ it will deviate more from the source material. I would be fascinated to see the kind of story a television writers' room with Daniel Handler at the head could create in the Snicket-verse either totally, or essentially, from scratch.
