Hey all. It's been a while. At the end of August, I moved states to begin my job as a middle school English teacher. As anyone that has ever moved knows, it is a frustrating process often resulting in missing or broken items. My experience was no exception. However, the nature of WHAT I have lost is suspicious.
In 2020, I found somebody to paint a sugar bowl for me to match the one from the show. This person painstakingly recreated it, painting it by hand. After months of waiting, I finally received it in the mail. Since then, it has (naturally) become one of my most prized possessions. I put it in special spot in my kitchen. I wouldn't let anybody else touch it. In fact, it became a bit of a joke with people who know me. Cut to the day of the move: the sugar bowl sitting on my kitchen island, wrapped in multiple layers of bubble wrap to keep it from breaking. I didn't put it in a box because I didn't want it to accidentally get crushed. While I was trying to decide the best way to pack it, I was in and out of the house, loading the UHAUL, and carrying boxes up and down the stairs. Several people were also there that day, all of them family or friends to help us with our move. A couple hours later, after the heavy lifting had been done, I returned to my kitchen. The sugar bowl was gone. Though most people had since left, I began asking around, becoming increasing desperate. Who last saw it? Did somebody put it in a box? If so, which box? Nobody knew.
I have been in my new place now for about a week and a half. The majority of my boxes have been unpacked, and I have looked in the ones that haven't been. No sign of the sugar bowl anywhere. At first, it was simply worrying. However now, I have grown suspicious. Did a friend or family member take it? Did someone break it and not have the courage to tell me? Or did it simply get thrown away by accident?
I'm not sure there is a purpose for this thread. Though there is a slight chance it is in a box somewhere, I have mostly given up hope. I figured I would share it because at the very least, you all could empathize with me in this mysterious and very Snickety predicament.
