Can I propose a small extension of the deadlines?

I see... But I feel strangely anxious about deadlines when I don't meet them.

I like this book a lot. It develops the plot substantially, and I like some of the unexpected directions the story takes. Hangfire really works well here, and I get a sense that DH is just about able to pull all the different threads of the mystery together.

Chapter 1: Mmm caviar(yes I like it). That paragraph about the library is really haunting. Idk how to describe how I imagined Qwerty’s voice, but I didn’t picture it as deep.

Chapters 9 and 10 that narrate the formation of vfd was was one of the most striking for me was one of the most striking for me. That speech was worth reading all four books. BB's initial description is wonderful too.

Chapter 2: Theodora is honestly kind of irritating. The pony book sounds weirdly familiar Chapter 3: The entire Mitchum clan is so annoying. Although I’ll admit the confusing lepidopterist with leper thing is kind of funny. This book is a little bit harder to follow than the previous ones.

Chapter 4: Is limeade Italian?I didn’t know that. If you’ve never had buttermilk, I suggest you try it. I like Qwerty’s quote about the fire on the mind. I also really like the last sentence of this chapter. Chapter 5: There’s something weirdly sad about burnt books. While I feel bad for him not getting to be near her, it’s kind of sweet that Prosper Lost is so protective of his daughter. Going to school with the children of dukes and counts doesn’t sound that sad.

I'm on chapter 11. I had completely forgotten about the Hercule Poirot reference! Can anyone help me: what is the book where a woman is murdered trying to pick up an apple in her mouth? I haven't read that story yet.

The end of chapter 11 took me by surprise again. I didn't remember that scene. It reminds me a lot of Resemblance 's writing style .

Now that I think about it, the whole book kind of reminds me of Semblance's writing style.

You have it backwards. Semblance's writing style is based off this book.

I finally finished book 3, and I can say that it was the one that hooked me the most. A very good piecemeal plan. And I can say that Daniel Handler found the best way to narrate the story in this book. It would have been interesting if PFB had followed that narrative line, I think.

Chapter 6: I’d like to know what led to Snicket learning the word sabotage in kindergarten. Toast as toasted bread is a connection I never really thought of before. I didn’t even know Old Yeller was a book. The movie is beautiful but depressing AF. This chapter is kind of confusing. Chapter 7: Wonder where all the glitter came from. Sorry but the Mitchums won’t be able to do anything about the abductors. They’re not much better than them. How does hair appear to be wincing?

Chapter 8: To be completely honest, I never really cared for the kill two birds with one stone expression either. I honestly feel bad for Ellington here. I didn’t like coffee either the first time I tried it.You get addicted used to it. How do you pronounce Filene anyway? Chapter 9: Never really thought about it before, but I’m kind of curious about VFD’s origins now. I like the term fire pond.Sounds like something out of Tolkien. Chapter 10: I kind of want to reread Wind in the Willows now. Lemony and Ellington have a lot of chemistry.Wonder what happened between them to make him pursue Beatrice. Stew’s wearing a mask now? He’s trying way too hard to be a slasher movie villain.

Chapter 11: How old are Pip and Squeak anyway? They’re shorter than Lemony but know how to drive. It took me an embarrassingly long time to figure out why the intentional mishearing game was called Beethoven. Kind of the missed opportunity for Partial Foods not to have their whole shtick being selling partially eaten foods. “Hurryupping” lol. Chapter 12: Bertrand? As in Baudelaire?
