Hello, it's Semblance. While I was brewing some tea, I was contemplating how harsh reality is. What are some bitter truths you can't avoid? I for one can't avoid the fact that I will inevitably lose everyone I hold dear, one way or another. Rest Pleasantly. Are you doing okay sweetie

That's true, but also remember it's exciting! Anything can happen and you have so much ahead of you- what's unknown can be a positive force as much as it seems scary right now

As a religious person for as long as I can remember, I can say that having faith in God's promises as they are written in the Bible is what comforts me a lot when I think about the meaning of life. I know that as long as this system lasts, the deaths of people I love are something I cannot stop. But I also know that this is a temporary situation and that it will be corrected through the resurrection in the future. For me, the resurrection hope is what makes this life meaningful. If not, even attachment to loved ones would come with a bitter mutual associate. But, as the Bible teaches, you and your friends and family will go back to living in a paradise where you will enjoy healthy living for all and miraculous youth. The Bible shows that there will still be exciting challenges, but not unexpected (or expected) tragedies. I wouldn't know how to live without those hopes and I really found reasons to believe in it as a reality and not just something I just want to happen.
So, in summary: for every bitter truth I have found a sweet hope that I truly trust. I think that makes more sense than thinking that the loss of loved ones, earthquakes, pandemics, accidents, wars, terminal illnesses, old age, death, hunger and social inequalities make life more exciting.
I would really rather not have any of that.

I find the future both terrifying and exciting at the same time.
