Your parents hadn't been there to restrain you? What would be different now? Would you still be the same person?
I'll start with easy stuff: My mother didn't let me watch shows like Power Rangers, Mega Man, and Transformers when I was young. I would still watch them, though - I would just sneak. She would only let me watch shows on PBS, and the shows we would watch as a family.
I'm actually glad that she didn't let me watch Power Rangers. It kept me different from the other kids at an early age.

If my parents weren't there to restrain me, when I was young, I'd also probably watch a lot of the cartoons they forbade to me, which included anything with even a little bit of gross-out humor. Not sure how that would make me different today; I might or might not outgrow that sort of thing.
I also used to read Mother's books about child care when she wasn't looking.

I also used to read Mother's books about child care when she wasn't looking. That reminds me of a time when my sister and I found a false backing to a bookshelf in our house. We found all of my mother's *gag* breast-feeding books. My sister took the books up to her room to look at them. She's very perverted.

I'd probably have joined 667 much earlier than I did. And I'd have seen more horror movies, and would be even further behind on sleep. I'd probably also be a good deal heavier, due to lack of exercise. That, or a good deal thinner, due to lack of food.
Personality-wise: I can't even remember what I was like or how I thought when I was younger. If my parents never restrained me, I'd probably not have changed so much, though - because I was different then, I think.

I'd:
-Be a TV-addict like everyone else at the time (but I never have been, and still aren't, because TV's boring) -Have done bad things like alcohol, smoking and drugs and stuff -Be at least three stone heavier, or something -etc, etc.
I'm glad my mum told me what's right, wrong, real and not real at an early age. Though I guess I did miss out on the fun of believing in Santa Claus and "monsters" and things.

-I'd be fatter than I already am.
-I'd watch a lot of TV.
-I wouldn't have any money.

Very little. I would have gone to friends houses more often when I was a child.. and I had something else but I don't remeber what it was now. But not much, my parents werent very.. good at the whole parental thing.

They were pretty liberal, they didn't really restrain me. My mum started trying to restrain me when I was 13. Last year. Wow.

My mom suddenly doesn't want me to know about my sister's sexual activity and suddenly I have to ask to see R movies. My parents were worried about me going to see an R-rated movie a few months ago. It was one of the first times they'd said anything too but I'm seventeen and legally allowed to watch R-Rated movies now. So thats a pretty good example that sometimes they tried restraint, they just never do well when they try to be parental.
