I know we all saw or heard about the halftime show. Tell me what you think about it and JT's commments. He practically admits that he did it on purpose. "I had to give you someething to talk about." He said this smiling after exposing Janet! I'm not her fan or anything but the princible of the thing....

I knew someone was going to post about this soon. What I heard ws Justin thought there'd be a bra underneath Janet's clothing so it was ok to rip her clothes off. The woman who works at my school wrote an article about this, it's really cool.
I don't have many opinions on this. It's just stupid and annoying.

What I found funny was how everyone was saying how shocked and outraged they were, how distrubing it was, and then they showed it every commercial break. I hadn't even seen it then I saw it 5 times from the commercial breaks. I mean if you're so digusted then stop showing it!
Yeah she supposedly had a pasty and some body glitter or jewels or something like that.

I had the game on but I didn't pay attention to it. I saw Janet and Justin dancing but I just turned away. From what I heard on the radio right now blame is resting on Janet and her 'people'.

I completely missed it until the day after, too. Ugh... I'm just annoyed at what lengths celebrities decide they HAVE TO go to to get attention. I think they just wanted to get people talking so they planned this whole thing and are now dodging around it, trying to keep it going. Sometimes our culture just disgusts me.
Celebrities always have to be "groundbreaking", I guess. So they just keep doing completely insane, extreme things. But then it gets old, so they have to do something more daring, and then that gets old, and then they have to make out with people of the same sex (refering to Brittney and Madonna, of course), pull eachothers shirts off, etc. It's stupid. Ugh.
What I don't get is why this is so shocking... it had to happen sometime... It's like the media and pop culture appeal to us with the whole sex thing and they're constantly bombarding us with images of ideal women, semi-naked and "perfect"... and then everyone's shocked when they see something just a step up from what we see in ads everyday. Okay... I know people have reason to be upset, shocked, etc. but the way the media's treating it you'd think they weren't always feeding us this crap...
Anyway, it was a stupid publicity stunt and I'm going to forget about it.
*Barfs on pop culture for good mesure.*

Omg Swans, that cracked me up. I'm not entirley sure why though, I think I'm sleep depriving myself again.
It makes a certain amount of sense to me. On Janet's behalf that is. I mean even my dad said he thought she was old. she's getting kinda washed up, not as big as she used to be, maybe she didn't like all that fame going away. Bad press is better than no press right? Someone also commented that it got people to stop thinking about one Jackson and focus on another.
What I liked and remember in the article that woman at my school wrote was about Justin. She said it was teaching women that it's ok for them to have thier clothing ripped off like that because many woman would let Justin rip of their cloting if it meant he'd pay attention to them. Men are going to think it's ok to act like that and girls will let them be stupid pigs. It was a very cool article, I'm gonna type it out once I see it in the paper.

Janet had a silver sun nipple cover....no I won't show you the picture.
2 points:
Afterwards, Richard Hatch on survivor was naked for almost the whole hour...not one word.
2) No one is talking about Michael are they? The stunt was a success. Thanks Babysister.

Justin Timberlake was dancing with Janet Jackson, and torn her shirt off revealing a pasty on thing covering her nipple, on an otherwise bare breast. And the Superbowl is football. The American football, not soccer.

Ugh. Apalling. (I agree with Neggie, that was a good rant ;D)
I didn't see the Superbowl, I never do... and I haven't even seen any clips of what actually happened. I mean, I am somewhat curious to see it so I might be able to tell if it was an "accident" or not, but I'm not going to go channel surfing to find some news station to watch someone get exposed. I doubt I'll ever be able to watch it- it'll be old news very quickly.
My dad watched the game (even though he hates Superbowl mentality, he still watches it...) and he's convinced it was on purpose, and that both Janet and Justin planned it all out. He said that all the lights in the stadium went off really quickly after it happened, and that there was someone at the light controls who was prepared for this.

That was worse than watching them eat rats........I think that football and Janet Jacksons nipples are like tuna and apricots, not good together, and leave a bitter taste in your mouth.

People have been talking about Richard Hatch-- all summed up with EEEEW. The difference is people didn't expect to see a breast, when you watch survivor you know that something wild is going to happen. There is a warning. I saw her latex outfit...I knew they had snap covers. I was like wow, I wonder if they'll rip em away....and one was...what bothers me is they (not necessarily Jessica) say "sex" has no business in football. Ahem. Cheerleaders. it's puritanical to be so aghast at a bare boob when watching a contest where grown men hit the crap out of each other. Once again Violence is acceptable but sex and nudity is taboo.... egad. I'd much rather my kids see nudity or sex than someone getting shot or beat up on TV.

That was a pathetic halftime show. I liked the guy in the beginning (who sang in tribute to the Columbia, cause it was the 1st year anniversery.) that was nice. And Beyonce did a very nice job singing the national anthem. but the halftime show? First of all, the artists were terrible, in my opinion. They weren't even singing the songs really. The recordings were being played in the backround while the artists ad libed. And Janet? what the hell was she wearing? a poofy skirt/tail? gack! ok, now my rant on the "wardrobe malfunction." At first, I was like "ok woah that was werid." But when I heard that Janet admitted that the whole thing was planned, I was disgusted. It's a family event to watch the superbowl. Did they even stop to think that people of all ages were watching this? also the fact that Janet is like 36 and Justin is like 20? ewwwwwwww!

if people wanted good wholesome entertainment, Toby Keith and WIllie Nelson would have played at half-time instead of at the opener.
