Craig: movies of book series' can be great and all, but if the series was already over, then we would already know how it ends, so it wouldn't be as exciting as reading one of the books for the first time, but it is better than nothing.

Maybe at the end, Olaf is defeated, they r all happy, VFD is Unschismd and everyone thought dead comes back to life magically, when suddenly Olaf escapes the policemen and runs off cackling maddly. Or maybe at the end Olaf is in a burning house or something and the siblings then rescue him because they r GOODY TWO SHOES and then Olaf leaves em alone. Or world war 3 starts and a nuclear bomb rains down on them. It has too end with happiness, but there has to be some kind of threat remaining Like Olafs even eviller twin brother wanting revenge

Lemony will have a hard time deciding how to end the series. I would be dissapointed if everything just resolved itself as if by magic, yet equally dissapointed if the ending was entirely downbeat. In my ideal ending, the Baudelaires would just barely survive, but lose their fortune to Olaf; Olaf would be brought to justice at the end. There's no ending that will please every reader.
