I need the book 6 audio book then. I need book 6 for my commonplace book anyway, I've forgotten what happens after they initially get to the squalors. Hmmm... Well I should listen to my old recordings of asoue songs shouldn't I? I particularly like the one for book 7, even though it's prolly not that important it's cool. Is anyone going to answer my other ?s? Because I'm not entirely sure the J,K, and L on there are the snickets we think they are.

Why wasn't the other half of the hospital finished? I don't think we'll ever know that. Maybe the builders all fell victim to a curse because the hospital was built on an ancient Indian burial ground. But why didn't someone else complete it. From a hidden little office, I guess. Maybe she's really, really shy. Olaf might have found her by interrogating her coworkers. I think it traveled from town to town, but stopped in the hinterlands because tourism there was popular. But then, for some reason, no one came out to the hinterlands. Maybe if someone bought the figurine it survived, but some carnival attendee is going to be confused about the coded message in his little souvenir.

No, Olaf said the figurine salesman was guarding her precious figurines so she prolly knew about the evidence and was trying to save it, but Olaf didn't give it any thought. I hope this evidence can be used to get Olaf behind bars... Will we hear about the winnipeg fire later in the series? As of LSUA the winnipeg mansion was burnt, but Esme was talking about getting the winnipeg fortune by burning the house down(she must've had a kid in the snow scouts) so the fire must occur l8r in the series...

I wonder who is the lady from the gift shop? Could it be K or the mysterious Estelle?

The saleswoman might have wanted to save the figurine so she could sell it to another VFDer. Maybe she actually did sell it, or she escaped with it, in order to make use of the evidence. This figurine may be nearly as important as the Sugar Bowl, which deserves capitalization.

Estelle Snicket. She is mentioned as a relative of Lemony in one of those Author Tracker e-mails.

Could she be another E? I got the same email also.
What deadly disease will be aboard the submarine? Scurvy?

Maybe. That's the only sickness that I could think of that is likely to happen on a voyage in the sea. Maybe some of the crew members get it and mass paranoia about the disease spreading ensues. Maybe they use the zopissa to patch up old wounds that will open again once the scurvy progresses.

I have to wonder just how zopissa--wax and tar--is used for medicinal purposes. I wouldn't want to drink any of it. Scurvy makes sense for a disease caught on a submarine voyage; it's traditionally cured with limes. My theory is that the scurvy outbreak will lead to hypochondria, as people who don't have the disease think they're getting it.

Scurvy is cured by citrus, I learned about that in 8th grade for some reason... Could Estelle be Lemony's mother? Because one parent of the snicket children is an E on the family tree.

Yet, as you mentioned before, if E was the mother the children wouldn't be named Snicket. Unless both she and Jacob had the same last name, or they were related somehow. How common is the last name "Snicket"? Maybe it's like Smith or Jones in this world.
