I don't mind how he reveals things. I mean, the books are so short ud've had to read for about another 2 hours at the most to figure it out.

What annoys me is the STUPID LITTL STORIES yes i know sometimes they hide information like evidence that beatrice is the bauds mom or mysteries like that but otherwise I ABSOLUTLEY HATE THEM reason why is that the books are so suspensensful that i just want to get right back to the story

Except books 1-5 or maybe 6 they arent that suspensful because there just about how the Bauds are running from Conut Olaf and they keep getting various guardians but starting about TVV it gets interesting because there aresecrets begenning to pop up like VFD but i guess u can say that they get suspensful in TEE because the Bauds find a passge way from 667 dark avenue to their destroyed home

To tell the truth, I don't find Snicket's writing style annoying. It's unique, and funny in a twisted way. The anecdotes and definitions add layers of meaning and(after book 8 at least) put the mysteries of the autobio in context. Snicket is parodying old-fashioned children's books that tried to be educational. In the recent books, you can see that he's parodying himself as well. Think of the Story of Queen Debbie and her Boyfriend Tony. If that's not self-parody, I'm not sure what is. Then again, maybe fandom has clouded my better judgement. But I like Snicket's style.

I say it's annoying when he defines words I already know. Well, it's not THAT annoying, but he does it a lot, and a lot of the time I already know that word. It's not that bad when he does it with a word I don't know.

Which is why he does it, because people dont mind if its a new word. Say for example a kid thats like eight years old probably wouldnt mind because he/she probably wouldnt know most of the words unless he/she was was like Klaus, who, of course, has a large vocbulary

I agree with all of you who find nothing annoying with his style. I mean, it's been this way from the (bad ;D) beginning... and dare I say, if you find his style annoying how could you have continued reading? If you find the word defining thing annoying try looking at it a different way. He's not patronizing you as if you didn't know the word, he's trying to entertain you with a funny definition. As for not liking his warnings about the books... um... strange. That's all I have to say.

for me it was really a tie between "telling us the vocab words, and tellin us not to read the books" but i voted for tellin us not to read the books cuz sum of the words he explains i dont know..

<sighs> I don't find snicket's overall style annoying, I just find certain small parts of it annoying. The definitions are becoming more entertaining as the stories go on, but the warnings are now less entertaining. Reading a warning not to read the 10th book in a series is quite annoying, if u've already read 1-9 what's the point of putting a dumb warning on the 10th? It won't stop u from reading, and it won't necessarily attract new readers either.

I hate it when Lemony puts a story when the book is getting very suspensful

Yeah, that's kinda annoying to. Really EVERYTHING up there as a choice is very annoying to me. It was hard to choose.

Some things for me are less annoying than others. Like when he made Olaf unfold the paper OVER AND OVER in book 9, that was annoying... I can't even remember which choice I picked...

It won't stop u from reading, and it won't necessarily attract new readers either. Then what do you expect him to do. On the back of the 10th: "You've all read books 1-9 so you know that they're not as bad as I make out so I shall just stand here and change what I've been doing as it appears to be getting very tiresome." or this: "READ THIS BOOK! IT IS SO GREAT: THESE LITTLE ORPHANS SEE THINGS LIKE A REALLY SWELL MOUNTAIN, AND A SECRET FRIEND-WHOSE A LITTLE BIT SNEAKY! AND THEY FIND SOME JAM IN A FRIDGE AND HAVE SO MUCH FUN WITHA LL THEIR SNWOY FRIENDS" Yeah... great blurbs....he should change his style to that for sure.

Of course I didn't want him to do that. I just wanted him to quit the warnings entirely after awhile. They get old..
