Clocks by coldplay reminds me of asoue it reminds me of the orphans being chased by olaf down a long dark hallyway that has no end and no hope and the song is 5 minuets long. Listen to it on windows media or real player. Very dramatic. Even though it is not on the soundtrack clocks is played at the beginning of the peter pan trailer. i never really thought of that but it makes sense!

Lost in the Supermarket by The Clash has always reminded me of ASOUE a bit... the exact lyrics are:
I wasn't born, so much as I fell out No one seemed to notice me We had a hedge back home in the suburb Over which I never could see
You know how Lemony goes on a rant about suburbs and how they're terrible to live in and all the houses look exactly alike... and the hedges. I could probably do some more "little Snicket lad" type linking, but I'm lazy. So I won't.

"Theif" by Our Lady Peace sorta reminds me of the Baudelaires, yep.
I don't want to understand this horror There's a weight in your eyes that I can't admit Everybody ends up here in bottles But the name tags the last thing that you wanted As the world explodes we fall out of it But we can't let go because this Will not go away There's a house built out in space...
I can't see that thief that lives inside of your head But I can be some courage at the side of your bed I don't know what's happening and I won't pretend But I can be your....
Someone help us understand who ordered This disgusting arrangement with time and the end I don't want to hear who walked on water Because the hallways are empty and the clock ticks
It's a long, long getaway Make it home again, make it home again

Whoa... BOOK? BOX OF TOOLS? That sounds like Klaus and Violet! I know! Thats why it reminds me of ASOUE so much. I think someone else on the forum has also posted it, wondering if DH had copied the song.

Beastie Boys "High Plains Drifter" reminds me of Olaf.
"Good Witch of the North" by Everclear is my Esme/Olaf song, totally.
Jerome/Esme- OverWhelming by Everclear.
I wonder why you stick around, sometimes I wish you would leave. You say you love me forever, then you spit on me. Your time is gonna come, I swear your time is gonna come.
I don't want to be your whipping boy. Yes, your happy little loser, someone you can ignore. I'm not gonna let you overwhelm me anymore
I have so many songs for everyone. More Later. Sigh. My first chance to be online since my new job and I am just too tired.

Hey, thanks very much, I love chocolates. It was nose surgery by the way, but I've always been a pretty good/apathetic patient, so I'm doing well.
You know, while we're talking about songs in any way, shape or form, someone once reviewed one of my fics while listening to Bohemian Rhapsody. I never found the review again but I'm listening to it now, so I guess it might kind of fit with ASOUE. Remotely. I'd post the lyrics, but there's a lot of them. The song's like six minutes long. BISMILLAH!

Oh, I've never had surgery. Most of my relatives have but, not me!Did you eat the chocolates?I didn't give them to you to eat if you did. They're supposed to heal your wound.Oh, and I LOVE Queen and Bohemian Rhapsody!

Wait, they weren't for eating? *box is empty* o shi Yeah, my friend Ed is a big Queen freak. But actually it was the Hitler on Ice animation that made me interested in Bohemian Rhapsody. Except the Flash skips over the first three minutes of it, just goes to the opera part.

Theres a song called "we didnt start the fire" I forget the people its by, and its totally 80's but the title still reminds me of ASOUE. The lyrics are mostly not ASOUE at all except the chorus: "we didnt start the fire, it was always berning since the world was turning."

We sang this really cool song in choir class (yep, I'm a choir geek--Choir geeks rule!!!) that reminded me of ASOUE. The lyrics are in Latin as well they should be, but the translation goes something like this:
O All Ye who Pass This Way, stop and see if there be any sorrow like my sorrow.
I know it seems short, but the Latin translation is a lot longer and it tends to repeat itself. It's a beautiful song with a truly haunting melody and it totally reminds me of the poor Baudelaires.

This one's for Lemony.
pop'n music 7 (KoHey) - Cry Out (translation from Cliones' Mansion, localization by me)
Tonight, alone in this empty room My heart still belongs to you Your voice that I know I’ve heard in the past Drifts in the soft sepia flow.
I’m seeing your shadow, I’m seeing your smile They make me almost mad, take me near to insanity Wavering silently without any noise Your voice fades slowly into the dark.
I’m counting my memories My scarlet tears are piercing this place I held you in my arms so many times It left scars so deep I’m tracing my fallen tears with a forefinger I’m losing my mind, it’s lost in the past Hold me, embrace me tightly again Cry out–I still have to stay here...

"televators" by Mars Volta reminds me of the bit in THH, when Klaus is in the burnt out hospital, without Violet.
