Secondly, this is really creepy. I was walking to school, and by the side of the road I found a page from a book called "Wold Without End", although it might be called "April", I can't sort out which is the chapter name and which is the book title yet. It was pretty damp, but the edges of the pages were singed. It's currently wrapped in tissues and sitting on a radiator to dry it off. When I dry it off, I'll tell you what it's about. It's pages 131 and 132. Update: It had references to churches, but no bells ringing, I'm afraid. Still, it's something, and it's in my commonplace book. Alos: From this week's copy of the Radio Times (a television listings magazine): " Crime Scene AcademyArson or Accident? Knoxville Fire Department deliberately starts a blaze so the students can use their arson knowledge." O.F.D., anyone?

I remember reading something at a "weird news" website about a volunteer fire department that set a deserted apartment complex ablaze so they could put it out for practice, but the flames spread to nearby buildings and hundreds of people had to be evacuated. I think it said the Chief of Police's house was burnt down, but I might be getting two similar stories mixed up.
Perhaps a year ago, I found a piece of glass that was melted and seemed to have ashes inside it, as if it had been in a fire. The really strange part was that I didn't know where it came from--it just turned up atop a bookshelf in the living room, and no one remembered bringing it in.

This isn't quite ASOUE-related, but it is somewhat related to the series.
Mr. Moore keeps making us think about tragedy (or tradjedy, as my friend spells it), and how "everyone seems to gravitate towards tragedy"...Of course, I always think of Tragedy when tragedy is mentioned.
Also, we read Oedipus Rex over the past week, and though I failed to find any ASOUE references, I did notice many things similar to Watch Your Mouth. Incest for one. My English class' general theme seems to be incest. Ish.

I saw the letters TCC on a policeman's uniform. Laissez- faire is one of my vocabulary words and during science class, when I was solving for the acceleration, the answer was 6.67.

Today I was at an art fair and there was a booth selling ceramic mushrooms, some of which were spotted gray and black like the Mycelium. I bought a shiny blackish-bronze one, for my collection of vaguely Snicketian items.

We talked about "dues ex machina" in English on Thursday. Someone else answered the question about what it was before I could, though.
My brother is sick. He says that it feels like the Medusoid Mycelium is growing in his throat. I told him to eat horseradish. He couldn't find any, so he had some diluted chilli powder. (:

I went into a shop yesterday, and they were selling a toy giraffe named 'Olaf'.

A while ago, I was reading a book called "The Vicious Vikings", from a series called "Horrible Histories". There was a list of Vikings with odd names, and it contained two Olafs: Olaf the Stout and Olaf the Peacock. I think I posted this in the previous ASoUE coincidence thread: A Proboards ad reading "Count Olaf" and advertising sporting goods.

I was reading "And Then There Where None" (also published as "Ten Little Indians"), which is about these 10 people on an island, and all are accused of a murder or something. One of the people murdered was a person named Beatrice Taylor. And one of the women, Vera, kept on mentioning a person named Hugo, who she loved, but who left her because she committed murder.

Ooh, I've read that. Or at least, I'm pretty sure I have. One of 'em was a dangerous driver who ran down two children, right?

Yeah, your right. And a the "Beatrice Taylor" technically committed suicide, but it probably wouldn't have happened if the old woman (Miss Trent?) hadn't turned her out.

My school had that play. It was cool. Everyone is guilty and invited onto an island where they are slowly murdered by this dude who fakes his death. Then, at the end, he gives the remaining person, Vera, a noose, and eats some cyanide. So she has the choice to either die, or be accused of murdering 9 ppl. In the last scene, she is looking for a place to hang herself. A few friends of mine played in it. It was cool.
