I think you are an IDIOT! It stands for Volunteer Fire Department! Have you even read the slippery slope?!?!?!?! No I'm not!  & no, I haven't read The Slippery Slope, but I'm planning on to read it once I buy that book!!! Ok? |

Violet: Quigley says that it means "Volunteer Fire Department", but this has been disputed because of many reasons. Capt. Widdershins says that it was "much more than a fire department", and goes on to name some other branches of VFD. Thus, Volunteer Fire Department could either be a category of VFD or the meaning of VFD itself. We have no way of knowing which yet.

No, nobody would call it that. It's just something you've gotten involved with alongside all of your regular work. Same with V.F.D. Frankly, I never understood why people always went on about V.F.D. having various branches - there was never anything to indicate that at all. |
