I started at reading them in 5th grade which would be in 2002 or 2003 because my shole class was reading them and one of frinds pulled me in. I started reading them a little after TCC came out and started with TAA. After that I had to read TEE to find out what happened next. Then I started reading the rest and became obbessed. And by fall I was on 667, had all the books, and was going to get TSS on the day it came out.

In my elemenary school, I had trouble reading books that I didn't like. So my teacher showed me TBB and I read it, got hooked, and am now obsessed.

Well, last spring, my friend had read all the books that were out at the time, and he let me borrow them, one after another, until school was out and I had to buy my own. He moved to Washington, D.C. and I have never seen him since. I fell in love with the books, and it's nearly been an obsession ever since.

I kept reading because Daniel Handler just writes in this totally different way unlike other authors. He's telling me in the book to stop reading...maybe thats what kept me on reading..
and besides..I needed a break from Harry Potter

I actually first heard about the series about the time MM came out, and thought it sounded really stupid and childish. Then I forgot about them. About the time HH came out, I was in the library looking for a book and I was in a hurry to leave before the library closed, so I hurriedly grabbed BB and checked it out. The constant warnings to stop reading made me want to repeatedly disobey, and by the end of the book about 2 hours later, I was hooked.

Me? Oh. I think its kinda weird that the almost all just got obsessed after the THH release or so. But me, its different. When I was just eight, I was too facinated with books (in general). I found the, I think the TCC. I was like so intrigued with the synopses, like 'dont read this'. But I didn't buy it.
Then the movie came. I checked out the site. Loved it too much. Then searched yahoo for LS then saw the 'surfacing' of the TGG. I saw it at my nearest bookstore and bought it. Then bought TSS which I dont know if its my own money. Then got THH and TCC as birthday gifts from each of my loving parents. (mother's day mom!) Then got the TVV. Then now, planning to get ahold of The 2nd boxed set, TBBRE and the TOO.
How obsessed. ;D

My cousin got the first three books for my brother for...Christmas, maybe? As soon as he was done reading them, I did. And was immediately hooked. As soon as I finished each book, I went out and bought the next. I think the reason I love them so much is simply Snicket's ingenious and unique humorous writing style. I mean, sure the plot is good and everything, but think about it, if it wasn't for his writing style, these books would be pretty much nothing. That being said, they are still excellent.

I was going on a long trip over the summer (Over a month away from home) and I needed something to read. My friend suggested them to me so I checked the first two out of the library. Then over the next month while I was away from home I found various ways to either buy them, or have someone buy them for me. My mom drove me half an hour to a small town in Alabama so I could invade their library and read their copies of the books. It was quite an adventure.

My best friend gave me the first one to read three years ago. I thought it was stupid, but she made me read all the way up to TVV, which I liked. Then I read THH, and couldn't get TCC. Until last summer. I thought it was OK. I then got TSS on tape at the library. I loved it. I actually joined 667 as away to keep in contact with a friend, but since I kind of liked the books, it went well. Now I think I'm at mild obsession.

My parents gave them to me as a present and I kept reading the BB because of the Edgar Alan Poe references. Though now I think I've started a trend at my school because all of my books are spread out among different people.

I first encountered ASOUE in fifth grade. My fifth grade teacher read us TBB, TRR, TWW, and TMM. I liked them and so after that I bought all the other books and read them.

The first book I picked up was TAA. A couple of my friends had read the series, and kept talking about how great it was. I decided to give the books a whirl, and fell in love with them. I can't put the books down when I read them now!

Dunno, really...I stumbled on it by accident. I hadn't read the books, and my friend Ruby kept showing me stuff like the poster of Count Olaf on lemonysnicket.com or showing me TUA. I wasn't really interested until I got TEE from my babysitter for my b-day. Two or three months after I got it, I started reading it. I lurved it, and started reading the others.
