A Rare Edition UA? It might be interesting to see how it looks, but how could it be different? I'd like it if we got color pictures of characters we've never seen before, like Jacques and the Duchess. Which reminds me of something I'd really like to see: A Helquist art book, featuring drawings never seen in the series. Well, he would either reveal more clues, I mean, in the UA, there should be lots of them. Or when he's written the series he could comment (Handler, not Snicket) on what he was thinking when he wrote it, what it all means and such.

Yeah, especially in the UA, where there are so many secrets and hidden thoughts. Like how he once said in an interview that the signature of the bloke who cut down the poles was "just a scribble". And how he found the photoes and where they are from and such. It would be teh sex. Let's email him about it.

I'd like a book where Handler, posing as Snicket, goes through where he started and how he found the information on the Baudelaires for all 12 books.

I'd also like to see that--some background on why Snicket is researching the Baudelaire case, and how he discovered what he did.

Yeah, like, are they HIS photoes, or did he find them in some old library, or internet, or whatever. They all seem so old-fashioned, they must be from his grand-parents or something. Or maybe his friends or such.

Maybe. Or perhaps he fabricated them using an advanced computer such as the one at Prufrock Prep. *smecks*
It would be nice to see him detail his thoughts and sources behind LSUA and to have those pics in color. I wouldn't want too many specifics or else you get into what we had in tbbre: Lemony: Did you sell three children, one girl with a ribbon, one boy with glasses, and one baby with sharp teeth, some olives after they sampled some and selected their favorites? Olive Vendor: Yes.

Or maybe his friends or such. That's what I thought you ment. In the Macchu Piccu pictures, though, you can see a Lemony figure, and in others, like the "Great (?) Britain" one, there is a truck or jeep that wouldn't have been there regularly. Perhaps he took photos like these whilst promoting the books.

Perhaps he took photos like these whilst promoting the books. The Machu Picchu and Great (?) Britain pictures, at least, have definitely had Lemony and the truck digitally added. Same for the other ruins photo on page 206 and all of the coffin-carrying truck pictures (you can tell because of the incongruousnes of the shadow, especially in the Disguise Training Phase Two section). I would like to know where all the other ones came from, though. All the unmanipulated Lemony photos were created specially for the book, and I think the Disguise Training Phase One sheet is too, probably, but all of the other ones, the ZitS pictures and Beatrice and Jacques and all... I think I read in an interview once that the UA started with Mr. Handler and his publisher having all these neat old photographs they wanted to use somehow, and they were going to make a sort of promotional pamphlet, but they kept gathering more and more and the project grew into the UA. Has anyone considered the idea that maybe at least some of the pictures were chosen to put in to substitute for actual photos of things? In the bookverse, I mean. As in "I will paste a photograph on this paper of myself at the age I was taken. (If I can't find it, I will paste a photograph of someone else of more or less the same age." This could account for some of the discrepancies in photos supposedly of the same thing, the Dairy for instance. And this would certainly make them doubtful evidence, as we could never be certain that what we are looking at is a "real" picture, one actually a picture of what we suppose it to be, or a random photo put in to substitute or convince us of something, like the verity of whatever is being illustrated. "Enclosed are some photographs of the telephone poles I chopped down..." OH DEAR. I have just looked at this thread's actual title and remembered that this is probably not the correct place for this. If there is a thread to which I could move this little discourse, could someone direct me to it please? In the meantime, to stay sort of ontopic: I would desperately like to see another UA type book, as others have said. Preferably one focusing on the backstory, Lemony and Beatrice and V.F.D., perhaps including a timeline of events as they relate to each other - the time the masked ball took place, for example.

You could probably move it into the thread I linked above, as it keeps to the same subject. Also linked here.

Lemony says we'll learn what happened with VFD, probably in 12, 13, or hopefully even another UA.
However, he says he might not tell us the whole backstory of Lemony/Beatrice, he may just give us clues and let us figure it out.
