I WRITE about the charicters. I actually DO draw the charicters. I can usually be seen running barefoot around my house with a pen-drawn tattoo of an eye on my ankle, screw ink poisoning.

I had a metal engraving of an eye made to put on our house's gate (which, incidentally, is both green and wooden).

I annoy everyone around me by talking about ASOUE all the time, and I associate ANYTHING I CAN with ASOUE. I'm getting the sims2 for Christmas, and I'm going to make a neibourhood (sp?) with all the ASOUE characters

-I make connections with ASOUE to everything else -I have practiced drawing the insignia enough that it actually looks pretty good (I mean, it bears a resemblance at least) -I get excited when people mention ASOUE or I see their books, etc. -I notice the words he defined, or other references in the book to other books or poems or people (Squee, a book by George Orwell! Oh, look, they used the word penultimate!) -I have bookmarked links to The Walrus and the Carpenter and The Waste Land -I've started to base my opinions on ideas in the books (Mom, I can't help you make sausages, you're not supposed to see how sausages are made.....) -Every time I hear a siren, I check if it's a fire engine, and then I check if it says volunteer fire department on the side...

Hmm…
-I am in possession of a common place note book in which I write various words beginning with ‘V’, ‘F’, or ‘D’ and constantly arrange them to form different translations of VFD, and I write down diverse theories about ASOUE. -I watch the sky for crows…or hot air mobile homes -I write notes to people who have read the books using the Sebald Code and code of other sorts. None of them have figured it out. -Many of the definitions, theories, ideas, quotes from the books are used in my everyday conversation. Of course, most people are to naïve to understand such advanced vocabulary and speculations. –sigh- -I often wear a ribbon, if not in my hair, it is in my pocket. And I refuse to go one day without having a book to finish reading. Though I haven’t gotten past cooking boxed food and adding water to instant food. -You can find an insignia on almost any paper that I have been forced/willing to write on. Most of the time, it has been erased, and only vague traces of it are left. -If anything related to ASOUE is mentioned – not meant to be directly related from what the average human can detect i.e. mushrooms, peppermint, The Walrus and the Carpenter, the difference between anxious and nervous, etc. – and respond with a message that, when coded, states something like: The world is quite here, or some random translation of VFD.

I have several different commonplace notebooks, simply because I write and draw in mine far too much.

-I've been drawing many ASOUE things lately. -I ramble on about ASOUE to my friends. -The majority of my fanfictions I've been writing/thinking about writing are ASOUE related. -If someone says a word that starts with a V, followed by a word that starts with an F, I'll perk up to see if they'll say a word that starts with a D. -When someone mentions a word or phrase that was mentioned in the ASOUE books, I'll perk up. -I often ask my new friends if they have read the ASOUE books. -I've talked a few people into reading them. -I've taken to doodling eyes and VFD's on my notebooks. -Most of my notebooks from summer have the insignia on them. -I made a few ASOUE Sims on that game. -I've taken an interest in Edgar Allen Poe. I was so happy when I found out we would be reading his works in school. -I've developed an obsession with Quigley. He's certainly made my list of...'Hot Book Characters'. -I've joined a couple of ASOUE fanlistings. -I post here, don't I?

I annoy everyone around me by talking about ASOUE all the time, and I associate ANYTHING I CAN with ASOUE. I'm getting the sims2 for Christmas, and I'm going to make a neibourhood (sp?) with all the ASOUE characters I've done that with Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 I named people after people and the rides ofter places from ASOUE EDIT: I also call one of my brothers Count Olaf for some reason.

I call my little sister Sunny, my Little Brother Klaus, and they both call me Violet. I also call my best friend Nee Olaf, or Esme. I'll call my mom's friend Contessa Eleanor as well.
I've also talked several of my family members into reading the books.

The other day, I repeated several quotes from ASOUE to my friend who's never read the series (I told her where they were from). I was hoping she might want to get into them, but no, she thinks they sound too depressing.
I also draw the insignia and eyes everywhere, and inwardly squeal when I see ASOUE mentioned in other places.

I fangirl, quite literally, when I find another ASOUE fan in my school.

I do EXACTLY the same thing. (My carrying around TPP was an apparent hit at my school; I was stopped by quite a few people asking how it was.)
I love talking to ASoUE fans, whether it is about plot guesses, theories, ships, or characters we love and hate. One of them still wonders why I don't like Sunny.
I told a friend to read ASoUE for a book report today.
When I listen to a song, I'll often say to myself: "This sounds like {Insert something from ASoUE here}", even if it is a distant relation, like "What is This Feeling?" from Wicked sounding like Violet and Carmelita.

If I hear a song on the radio that even vaugely seems to have an ASOUE connection, either in the lyrics or in the music itself, I start.

I'm so glad that I have a unique habit! I have this small set of drawers in which I keep all important things that will be needed in the near future. Guess what I call it? The Last Safe Place!!!
