OMG!!!!! I just found some evidence that UNCLE MONTY is ALIVE...it was so obvious that I must have skipped over it! did anyone else notice the following facts??? -the mambo dumall's (sp, sorry I don't have the books with me at the moment) poison merely paralizes the victim...the only thing that makes it one of the most deadly snakes is that it STRANGULATES its victims AFTER biting it and the snake was not there to finish its victim off. - dead people don't have a "shocked expression" on their face because when they die...their muscles relax and their eyes roll back...they don't stare straight forward....and I only know this from studies, etc...don't be freaked out about the dead body part... ... XD rofl.

I'm sorry I don't recall it ever saying it "merrily paralyses the victim" instead it describes the venom as "deadly". Besides I'm sure the Baudelaires, Mr Poe, Olaf, hooky and every one else there who witnessed such a sight can distinguise between someone dead, and someone faking death.

I agree with Mesme. Did you absolutely have to have the topic all in capitals? That was completely unnecesary.

The Mamba du Mal is one of the deadliest snakes in the hemisphere, noted for its strangulatory grip, used in conjunction with its deadly venom, giving all of its victims a tenebrous hue, which is ghastly to behold. More pleasant to contemplate, however, are the snake's excellent communication skills. Certain specimens of the Mamba du Mal have been trained to recite certain phrases in an encoded form of English so they might be employed as guardians of crucial headquarters. A Mamba du Mal hissing the phrase "Summer is" for instance, is communicating a coded version of the phrase "Enemies are nearby." The hissed phrase "over and gone" translates to "probably in disguise," and the Mamba has been known to hiss the word "dying" as a code for "Beware of arson." The only other creature with communication skills sufficient to convey these messages is the common grass cricket.
Tony "Mommy" Eggmonteror, The Mamba du Mal: A Snake That Well Never Kill Me (Venom Feels Delightful Press), p. 169
This means that the snake probably grips its victims to hold them still, and finishes them off with the venom. The strangulatory grip gives the victims their tenebrous hue due to bruising - notably absent from Dr. Montgomery's corpse, as while he was killed with snake venom, it was delivered not by a snake, but by a count.

...... I thought that was OBVIOUS. Apparently some people tend to skip small portions crucial to the story. Either that or they just don't get the concept of death.

I agree. We would have noticed sooner if the book that Klaus read said that the Mamba du Mal only paralized its vicims. We would have noticed that before even joining this forum.

On a barely-related note, I like the name of the publishers of Monty's book - Venom Feels Delightful.

Exactly, that's why codes are used and why they're so much fun! I wish venom felt delightful, then we wouldn't really have to worry about it..

rofl...>.< I wish venom felt delightful too... I also wish that Veruca (from charlie and the chocolate factory) Fell Down in the chocolate river in the beginning of the movie so that we didn't have to deal with her...but unfortunately...niether is possible...I don't think...maybe...who knows... wait!! I'mthe scientist D'oh! XD rofl... ya...if you have a numbing medicing injected into you and you have recently lost your mind then venom would feel delightful! >.< but the veruca thing I just mentioned...is quite impossible...unless of course the squirrels swam in the chocolate...

yeah, that was random. not to say that Charlie and the Chocolate Factoury isn't a Franz-tastic film!
Who's to say venom doesn't feel delightful? It probably does. The only downside would be the death that it brings and, for some, the puncture necessary to bring the venom to the bloodstream. Also, Venom is the coolest villain ever. And he's hot.
