According to Wikipedia, the ASoUE articles could be corrected and imporved if enough votes are posted. I thought I'd make this thread so that people knew that this was happening. Currently, the Wikipedia's information on the brilliant series is plagued with erroes, typos, original research and too much unneeded speculation. It will need at least 12 votes by December 5, 2006en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Series_of_Unfortunate_Events

I support this movement. I've tried in the past very hard to improve Wikipedia's aSoUE articles, but to be perfectly honest, I gave up - there was too much and it was too bad, probably as a consequence, I suspect, of the articles being largely written by random newbies with little understanding of either the series or of Wikipedia. They need help.

Maybe, we (as the whole of the 667 Board) should allocate an article at a time for everyone to contribute to. Therefore, we can discuss everyhting that should be added to the "article of the week", for instance. IE: If we chose Beatrice, as an example, anyone who wanted could type up parts they think should be added, we would then discuss it and then put them all together to make a consise and accurate bank of information.
It was just an idea. Crazy, but I tried!

I love this idea. It would take a long time, but now that the series is over, what else do we have going on? The idea really goes along with the new Indecent Ideas sections as a long-term project. I don't know of any better-qualified Snicket Scholars than are here at 667. Anyone else on board?
EDIT: I have to admit, though, that I'm Wiki-ignorant. How do we vote? The site says that voters have to be "registered user with at least one contribution that is not a vote." What does that mean?

I believe that that means you have to have a Wikipedia account, and you have to have used that account to edit an article (to show that you haven't registered solely to vote, I think).

That's how I interpreted it, but I wanted to make sure.
That's kind of a pain, isn't it?

I support this 100%. Nothing better to do. EDIT: I added my vote under my hardly used account (Hooky6). It says that now we need 16 votes by December 12, 2006. Get an account! We can do it!
