Meybe, although they are rather boring.
Plus Bass is a bank robber.
Edit: Bah!

It's the "first post on the next page" syndrome again! Maybe the boringness of the teachers is part of their act. Somewhere there's a thread about Bass's bank robbery; it's not clear why she did it or what she was stealing--not necessarily money.

I don't think that it's particularly important, just a fun thing to say.

I guess there's a pic of two kids having a food fight, just to show that the school is a nasty place with mean students

Larger image Actually, I always thought the two Quagmires in the cover were waving to the Baudelaire, as in hailing them to their table.

It does look like it. Maybe you're right. But it looks to me like one is throwing something at the other. Maybe they had a little fight that was quickly forgotten when they met the Baudelaires.

Fwff, those fifes sound rather ineresting.
How about one mega utensile, the sporkife? Sproks with sharp edges.

I just took a look at my book cover and noticed the two people in the back of the image for like... the first time. LOL. I'm rather oblivious, eh? I don't really think they're throwing anything, though. I agree with Dauntless in saying that if they're the Quagmires, then they're trying to get the Baudelaires' attention to sit with them.

I always wondered that.
And yes, those are the Quagmires at the back.

I recently noticed little oddties on the cover of the Austere Academy (American version). They were awesome! Especially the person with the really long neck, and the short chubby boy sitting next to Carmelita- which I name him her boyfriend- as well as how short Klaus looks in the picture. This cover is probably my favorite one! (Though I haven't taken a close look at the others)

I don't think those are the Quags. They look like they're sword fighting.
With Lemony Snicket, you don't know if something is a clue or if its just there....

You're right, he is V tall! I've always wondered that... Not sure if that is the Quags. Might be, but one does look like they're throwing something at the other one.

I've been wondering about Nero's height for quite some time. The book clearly states he is 5 foot 11, or just about 6 feet tall...
But if you look on the cover, he's just about double Violet's height, while leaning down a bit! How short are the Baudelaires?
