I really liked the passageway that the empty elevator shaft made and Violet's invention for negotiating it. Plus Sunny really came into her own. I didn't climb my first elevator shaft with my teeth until I was three. It just bugged me so much that the Baudelaires didn't stay and listen to the Quagmires' information first. Clearly the Bauds have never watched TV to make such a mistake.

of course every thing Esme' said was in!!!!!! The pinstripes, Cafe' Salmonella, Parsley soda, etc. TEE was the 2cd book for me to read and one of my favorites (next to THH and TPP), so I was blown away by ending.

Two pages of blackness, I'd say. Amusing and wholly original. Although I did like the passageway, too, and appreciated the mystery it added to the series.

I didn't climb my first elevator shaft with my teeth until I was three. That was the age I made my first evil plan.

I think the passageway because it seems that thats when all the mysteries really started kicking in, with that passageway. It seemed like the 6th book was when it started getting as interesting as it is in the 12th book. I don't mean that the first 5 were boring, I'm just saying that I couldn't put books 6-12 down. I love asoue!!! ;D

The whole what's "in" and what's "out" is one of the funniest things in the whole ASOUE series, I think.
I picked the 2-pages of darkness.

It was really interesting the way 667 was obsessed with being in. It is realistic (although grossly exagerated) when you think about it. Aren't there people who all they do is follow trends?

The passageway was really mysterious. Loved that part. I think it set up a lot of the upcoming books, like in TSS with Quigley and whatnot. The two pages of darkness was really clever though.

I adored the Baudelaire mother clues as well as the whole section with the stairway being lit by candles...it was a really surreal book--which is why it remains one of my favorites from this series. The passageway was really neat too...and the whole 'haunted' description..descriptions in TEE were grrrrreat!

I liked the passageway between the two houses. For me it rings similar to THE END when the library under the apple tree was about to connect to Anwhistle Aquatics.
