Remember in TVV during the prison scene? Sunny said "brioche". Just a random connection.

Oh yeah. Maybe they had brioche rather than regular bread. Brioche might be more absorbant, now that I think about it. Cake usually is (although it was really bread-cake).

Brioche is delicious but very buttery which makes it very expensive. So unless Nero was cutting corners on the butter or they used margarine instead of butter, Prufrock Prep could not be serving the stuff regularly.

I don't think that we ever said that Prufrock Prep. was serving it, just that Carmelita's favourite word alludes to it. Actually, it doesn't even do that, I just pointed out that the cake wasn't actually cake.

It's not bad. I don't recall it being particularly tasty, but it didn't taste downright bad.

Mother made some. She used to live and work in France, so she knows a lot about the place.
Heh. In French school cafeterias, the teachers can get wine. Wine!

Wine? As in the good stuff?

Wine as in the alcoholic drink made from fermented grape juice.

I know what wine is. I'm asking whether it was the expensive wine or the cheap wine.

I knew that you knew what wine was, I thought that you meant that I might have misspelt wine, or been thinking of something different, because you found the idea so extravagant.
I don't know how expensive/cheap the wine was, although I imagine it depends on whether it's a wealthy private school, or downtown Gangsville.
I doubt that they'd be dishing out anything too awful, like Oncle Francois' Cheapo Un-Jour Fermented Wine, though.
