is Prufrock a training ground for new VFDers? warning spoilers
In the GG we lkearn about the code where they replace words in an actual poem. Could this same thing be used for the stories Violet had to learn?

Oh no, not this tired old theory again. *sigh*
There is no evidence which I can remember which implies that it is; it seems likely that it is not. The most likely option (which is also an acceptable middle way) is that V.F.D. has agents there (for example, the librarian) who watch the children, pick out the promising ones, and those children in question are taken, although this practice is probably getting more difficult - see Nero's letter to the Spats family in the U.A.
Edit: On Verse Fluctuation Declaration: Possible, but I doubt it.

Ahh, looking for possible neophytes at a prep school. And students at prep schools are always rich, and all of the VFD families have lived in mansions and had fortunes. Hmm...
