This is the thread for people that want to show how dark they like 'em! And how dark you are, of course... I'm mildly dark, for a white person. I have never gotten a sunburn, but I tan easily, that is when I'm IN the sun... I spent most of the summer inside, and still I have MAJOR tan lines on my feet (from sandals.) Is this because I'm Italian? I've always been told this...

Even though I told swans I was German, I do have some Irish and French in me..
The irish part keeps me from tanning a lot... So I have fairly white skin, with a little red sunburn on my face.. goes with ze red hair.

I'm Irish, and Celtic... I don't have any evidence of this in my appearance, though.

I'm mostly Scottish (with some Dutch, German, British and French). Generally I have very pale skin which is probably because of my reddish hair. In the summer I only tan slightly and burn slightly and freckle slightly.
I don't know what all this fuss about being tanned is. I prefer having pale skin to being tanned. How did this "tanning fad" come into presence anyways? Is it supposed to represent being wealthy if you're tanned because it shows you can afford to travel abroad to warm places?

I don't know. Maybe people just don't want to be fair skinned any more.

I like being pale... I spent long hours in front of computers and under umbrellas to stay this pale.
(I used to try to tan during the summers, but I stopped, and now I do the opposite.)
I think tan is attractive, though.. but only if it's not orange or brown-in-someplaces-white-in-others (like my mom's tans).
(My ancestor people were Swedish and Finnish. I felt the need to share that for some reason.)

I don't like tans. I don't think they're attractive, and then there's the whole cancer-ness. Yuck. Well... yeah. I'm not very multi-cultured. My family's been in the U.S. and Canada for centuries... okay, well, a couple of 'em, anyway.

She's probably nine, but seeing as you two make the same grammar mistakes, I would guess that you two speak the same language.

I don't tan easily, but I could probably if I took the time. I had though about going to a salon, but I just read an article about a girl who got skin cancer from tanning @ salons too often

Tanning salons make your skin an unnatural orange colour... icky!

My skin is ghost white, which makes me look like a member of the Adam's Family. But I like tans. I'm 100% German so I don't really know how the tanning thing works in Germany. But tans are super cool, in my opinion. As long as they aren't orange (I prefer a "tan" colored tan). They make you look spiffy. Oh, and Mario: i love tans!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111

Oh, then I'm 100% German...
I like tan tans, but when I'm cold, I grow pure white and pink which makes me look like a white lizard with pink spots.

I'm olive, too. My legs are pale, though. They don't get out much. My arms are dark... What the heck do you mean, Greenberry? You're mixed, hispanic, or... what?
