I sort of doubt the validity of the Count's son thing, myself, although it's remotely possible that Olaf is in fact the son. Would a Count's son become a Count?
And the bald man does look faintly like Olaf, but I don't think it's terribly significant.

No. The bald man is nothing but a high-ranking henchman, probably from a VFD background, but nothing more. And yes, a Viscount becomes a Count on the death of his father. (In Britain we call Counts Earls, but still say Countess and Viscount.)

Maybe it's his brother.

For some reason, I hadn't considered that, and can think of no evidence against it - with the possible exception of M. and N. on the family tree, but those against the family tree being a family tree need pay that no heed, and the sinister duo might not be M. and N. anyway.

I dunno, I think Olaf doesn't care about him enough for him to be the brother. I mean, he always adresses Olaf as "boss" and.... I dunno. Olaf doesn't seem to care when he gets eaten by lions. I believe he is just an associate, nothing more.

I'm with PJ. Albeit an important one, probably similar to Fernald in stature before his downfall.

I'm with PJ. Albeit an important one, probably similar to Fernald in stature before his downfall. Not quite as high, though. I think the order was: -Esmé -Fernald -Bald dude -Androgyne -White powdered ladies
