"What does mean?" Klaus said. He knew it was latin, but he had no clue what it meant.

"Translated word for word, it means, "Happy death", but as a phrase it means "Death is happy."

(Can I's Be Violet please?)
Violet thought that this translation seemed fishy....

Lindow fidgeted with her mummified toe key chain.

"I suggest you see the nurse before doing anything else." Lindow advised. "If she turns your eyelids inside out with a button hook, tell her you're sure you don't have trachoma."

Claire sighed as she stood outside the tilted shack known as "Quentin's Home For Orphans." She was a tall, skinny girl with wavy brown hair and hazel eyes. She wore a black and crimson dress that came to her knees, and she wore her hair in a ponytail with a scarlet ribbon. Slowly she knocked on the door that had lost its paint long ago and waited for an answer.

"Welcome to Quentin's, Claire. I'm Lindow. Did you pack pyjamas?"

"Pajamas?" Claire questioned. She had just escaped a burning building, been separated from her siblings, escaped the clutches of an evil man, and received a notice to meet at Quentin's from her sisters via a coded poem. She hadn't really had the time to pack pajamas, much less anything. "I hadn't really been expecting to come here, actually."

"Here." She handed Claire a tube with arm holes. "It's a slip. It's pretty unisex so you can fix it up with scraps from the sewing room if you want. Next, any allergies?"

"Er... yes actually. I'm allergic to strawberries," Claire replied as she took the slip from Lindow. Worrying about her sisters, she added, "Have any other orphans arrived today? Specifically, anyone named Victoria or Emily?"

"Not that I can remember. Here are the orphans schelduled to arrive." She pulled five photos out of her pocket. "We have two Victorias and three Emilys scheduled. Are any of these your sisters? After this, I'll have to take you to the nurse to make sure you don't have anything cathching. We're having enough trouble already, what with the fits."

She looked at the pictures carefully examining each one. Sadly she shook her head. "I wouldn't expect they would have... Hey, wait a minute! How did you know they were my sisters?" Claire asked suspiciously.
