"Excuse me" said carmelitta tapping Claire on the shoulder "Are you cakesniffy?" Having just arrived at the orphanage she was momentously friendless and observing Claire to be the most decent looking orphan there she decided to take her chances on her. "If you're not, I'll allow you under specific circumastances to be my friend"

"I'm just mourning." Lindow replied. "Want to see something?"

"Yeah, sure" Klaus shrugged. I'll do anything for her ,he thought.

Claire turned around to face the young girl. Her first impression was that the little girl was bratty, selfish, and bossy. "First impressions can sometimes be wrong," she reminded herself. She didn't want to appear rude, so she replied, "Sure, I'll be your friend." She hoped she would not regret those words.

"Excellent" replied Carmelita with a smirk. "I'm thirsty arn't you Claire? Of course you are. Could you get us a glass of water? I'll just be in the dormitory getting the best bed before some cakesniffer takes it."

She felt uneasy by the demands of the little girl, although they looked harmless enough. Since she didn't have anything to do anyway, she decided to get some water for her. "I forgot to ask, what is your name?" Claire added as she started to leave the room.

"It's Carmelita" replied Carmelita "Don't bother giving me your name I'll just forget it." She looked up at the tall girl scrunching up her nose as if she had a bad smell "I'll just call you lanky"

Lindow took Klaus' hand. "The bog is a vast cemetery, full of traditon. Look here, for instance." She lead him to a wall covered in red hand prints. "These are the hand prints of Hindu orphans that comittied suicide after their boyfriends died."

"Well that's odd," thought Claire to herself, "Since she said my name before. Oh well." She shrugged. A bratty little girl was the least of her worries.

"Wow, that's not good..." Klaus said, looking at Lindow. I wonder why she's telling me this. And I wonder what that key means... he thought, and I wonder if she has a boyfriend... "I wonder, is there something you're not telling me?"

"There's lots of things I'm not telling you, but none of them make sense or are of any importance." Lindow replied. She lead him to a large crib that looked like it had been pulled out of a junk yard. It was half submerged in the bog. "This holds the graves of babies that died here."

"Babies died here?" Klaus asked, looking at the crib. "How do you live here?" I wish I could help her... he thought. "Is there anything I can do to help you?" he asked her.

"Okay, let's go," he said, walking after her. This really seems like a bad place. Why is she here? he thought, trying to keep up with her.
