I have to say that I prefer Handler. Rowling's great when you're in the mood for that kind of writing, but Handler just tends to be the type of author who's wonderful no matter what your state of mind. I'm surprised by the overwhelming majority that say that they dislike the fifth book - I'm very enthusiastic about secret societies (one of the finer things in Handler's writing), and when Rowling introduced it, I found it incredibly compelling. As for Harry's anger - it seemed realistic. I was wondering all through the third and fourth book why he was perfectly normal - I mean, after fighting a great force of evil shortly after your life is changed, you'd think that someone would be suffering from psychological problems.

I much prefer Snicket to Rowling. You know with Rowling it will usually start with Harry in a bad situation, then he'll come good and, after one or two hiccups, come out on top. The Baudelaire orphans never come out on top. I find it refreshing he can be so different from what seems to be the successful formula.

I like Rowling better because the HP books are longer and I like the plot lines a little bit better than ASOUE..

Was there any reason for repeating that?
