I like Snicket better, but that's my opinion. I'd like to hear other people's opinion because ASOUE is HP's biggest competition.

I like Snicket better too but I think HP is more known, especially in Europe.

I picked Rowling. I don't exactly know why.

I didn't vote either. I liked Rowling but I got over the obsession, and after the 5th book, which Harry got really annoying in, I pretty much lost interest. But I loooooooooooooooove reading HP fanfics (parody).

It's hard for me to decide. Handler's/Snicket's style of writing is more humerous. yet I love HP.

I agree- Harry got tempermental and annoying in the last one and I was put off by it. However, I think you can't really compare the two. Their writing style is so different, it's like apples and oranges.

I hate Harry but the other people rock. I do agree the styles are very different so it is hard to pick a favorite.

i'm in love with them both and it's so tough to choose as both their writing styles are totally different. However I voted for Handler only cuz it's on this board!

I was pretty disappointed by OotP, so Handler. But Rowling USED to be close.

Why was the fifth book terrible for you two? For me it was only because of the end.. and Harry but what about you?

I wasn't too upset by Sirius's death... It just seemed to be for the sake of killing someone, though, which was extremely annoying. And I didn't like the plot format... the other ones were almost like mysteries, this was just a bunch of stuff that happened, and didn't seem especially well thought-out or connected. I think Rowling went for length in the fifth book and sort of left out some quality. I didn't think there was anything great about it... if the first book had been similar in quality and randomness, I wouldn't have kept reading the series. Maybe it's just that I was expecting too much from the book, but the ending seemed like, "oh. Well... we haven't gotten anywhere since the book started, then, have we?"... Disappointing. I didn't mind Harry being mad and bitter, either... I thought it was more realistic... I just wasn't satisfied with the book as a whole.

I didn't like the fifth book. After I read it I lost my intrest in Harry Potter. I hated Sirius' death. He was my fave character. I also got really annoyed by Harry. I hated Professor Umbridge as well.[glow=red,2,300]TEXT[/glow]
