Have a look at this link: www.uiowa.edu/~ctrbook/Center_Programs/undergrad.htmlWhat in god's name is THAT? Edit: Seems some older members (Derik) already know of this book. Perhaps someone can explain to me what it is, and why Lemony Snicket is the author, rather than Daniel Handler.

It's some sort of satirical Christmas story, written by Handler/Snicket, and illustrated by his wife, the graphic artist Lisa Brown. Other than that, I don't know much about it. These were the only images I could find from it. www.americanchickens.com/illustration_analog.html#

So it has nothing at all to do with asoue? Then why the pseudonym Lemony Snicket? Was that just so more people would buy it? Has anyone here read it?

It's under the name of Lemony Snicket because it's in the Snicket style (from what I recall of somebody once linking to a preview of the first two or so pages) and it may even have aSoUE allusions, I suppose.

I see, and what motive would Lemony Snicket have of writing it? If it's because it is in his style, then it most likely has something of worth in it. So no one here has read it?

Well, if I recall, there were a very limetted number printed and they originally sold for about $500 and are probably worth way more now. So I don't think many people have access to it.

Nope.... A quick search of bn.com yielded no results. But I did find this: www.uiowa.edu/~ournews/2002/december/1217snicket.html" The story, "The Baby in the Manger," was actually written two years ago for the Washington Post, which commissioned Handler to write a Christmas story for publication. When the editors received the manuscript, however, they were in for a shock -- the story is a spoof of the Nativity, with Joseph as a costume designer, Mary as an herb specialist, and the baby Jesus kidnapped by the owners of the hotel where he was born. The Post's editors labeled the story too dark and "anti-family" for their newspaper and sent it back to Handler." "The publication is being overseen by Chelsey Johnson, a former graduate student who graduated from the university's Writers' Workshop in 2002. Only 65 copies of the 18-page illustrated story are being published." 65 Copies. Wow. Those must be worth a fortune now. Me wants! *grabs*
