Daniel Handler's birthday is coming up next month, February 28th to be exact. Do you have any plans to celebrate? Anyone else planning to send him a gift?
I can't decide what I should send him. Last year I made him a t-shirt and he sent me a photo of him wearing it. How can I top that?

I don't know. I didn't even know his birthday was coming up!

I like the second one. You could also write him a letter and put 667's URL in it. Just an idea.

Those accordion pins are really cool; incidentally I have one rather like them(but plain silver).
And I think we should send Handler some fanart, perhaps. I have some drawings lying around someplace, so maybe I might make him a card. It really depends on how much time I have.

Just out of curiosity, where do we send presents to?

I like the second one. You could also write him a letter and put 667's URL in it. Just an idea. I did mention 667 Dark Avenue to him in my letter last year. The photo he sent back said "Your site scares me" on it, so I'm sure he has visited before. He may be here right now. (Oops. I hope the birthday surprise isn't ruined.) Just out of curiosity, where do we send presents to? I send letters and such to my contact at Harper-Collins who then forwards it to Daniel Handler. And I think we should send Handler some fanart, perhaps. I have some drawings lying around someplace, so maybe I might make him a card. It really depends on how much time I have. Fanart, yes! I'm no good at it, but many here are. If anyone wants to send it to me, I'll include it with my package.

I personally like the first pin best Gigi, Anywhos I intend sending him some fanart and fanfiction.
Suggestion: Perhaps we can send him a large card from 667, Wishing him a happy birthday from [insert long list of names here] I could organise it if anyone likes the idea

I like the first pin better also.
I was thinking about sending him something this year as well. Where would one without a Harper-Collins contact send him something?

I like the second pin better. It has more color to it.
We should make this ginormous post and have members type up birthday wishes to him in it, and have the members "sign it." Gigi could print it off and send it with all the other stuff.
The fanart sounds good, too. She could print that off, also.
And maybe I could 'specially' make Handler a gift, Gigi. Then I could send it to you, and then you could send my present with the main one.
List of gifts (we should edit this as it grows):
Accordian pin Big post birthday card Fanart My gift

Those accordian pins are cool, and I'd certainly sign a card. It's times like this I wish I was a fanartist rather than a writer. I've done some fanfiction, but sending that just seems maybe slightly haughty... I don't know, it's like fanart is a tribute, but fanfics are competition. To my mind, anyway. I could also make him up an e-card of some sort, as I've got some card backgrounds made from aSoUE borders left over from various occasions.

What kind of fan art do u think Mr. Handler will appreciate? I think he would appreciate anything you excel at. Since lauren has volunteered to organize a birthday greetings thread, why don't we do that. I would say keep it just greetings, no discussion between us. That can stay here. Snicketfires, anyone without a contact at H-C can just send it to the H-C address listed at lemonysnicket.com. Mr. Snicket HarperCollins Children's Books 1350 Avenue of the Americas New York, New York 10019 It's the same address I use, but I address it to my contact's attention and they are expecting it. EDIT: I ordered the first accordion pin, the black one.

However if you are going to do it, I'd be Glad to help and contribute a message in it and then we could finally meet up.
