How exciting and fast! I got a reply in the mail today from Daniel Handler for the birthday gift I sent him. If you remember, I sent him an accordion tie tack. I enclosed a note saying that I worried something might happen to him if his tie were not restrained.  The package also included the fanart people PM'ed to me and cards my students made for his birthday. Today I got this card:  If you can't read it, it says, "Dear Compatriots, My associate Daniel Handler recently found himself in a dreadful situation, all because of his unclasped tie. I cannot thank you enough for rescuing him from such unpleasantries in the future. With all due respect, L." I'm hoping lauren gets a reply soon too. I can't wait to hear what he says about the big card. |

Stickied. Daniel Handler birthday responses are great things to anticipate. And that particular one certainly is cool. I hope lauren gets a reply soon, too.

I couldn't believe how fast it came. It was postmarked on the 28th, his actual birthday. I'm guessing he got the package a few days before that. I sent it early to make sure it got there in time.

Ah, that's such a cool reply. Seems he enjoyed the present, and I look forward to seeing whatever replies Lauren gets.

Lol that's funny. I can't wait for a reply from him...hopefully. Though, it might take another week because the mail won't come during the weekend and it's a public holiday on monday. *twitches with inpatients*

No no, I wasn't kidding  But yeah, it's the weekend again so there won't be anything arriving. I'm not sure wether he'll send anything at all. I mean I didn't write "Please reply" or anything like that on the letter, and unlike Gigi I live in another country to Handler so it will cost him more to send a letter over. |

Oops *face-palm* I typed it on microsoft word and it automatically corrected it to inpatients. So I just assumed it was correct....Yeah I realise this is hardly the thread to discuss the foolish routines of my life. Sorry.

Gigi, that's wonderful! I totally missed his b day, but logged on to see what you did. I'm sure he loved it. I looked at Lauren's (and everyone's) card and it is great too. I hope she also gets a response. That's one of the greatest feelings in the world, receiving a letter from DH.
