So I was flicking through the Metro on the bus to school the other day, and I came across the 60-second interview which I usually read, and lo-and-behold it was Daniel Handler! There's a transcript of the article on the website. He briefly mentions ASOUE but it's a cool interview nevertheless.

I think I actually heard about this a few days ago and then forgot about it, but thanks for coming up with the URL, MikeT. There's a lot of stuff there about Handler's life that I'd never heard before, and it's really quite interesting. And that was just last Wednesday? How long has Handler been in the U.K., and has he left yet?

I'm not sure how long he has been in the UK. When does Adverbs come out, because by the looks of the introduction, he was over promoting that.. but to be honest, he isn't a huge author in his own right over here. Only me and my friends (because of me) have actually heard of Daniel Handler.

Adverbs came out here on the first of this month, i.e. June, I think. I mean, I own a copy. And I hear that he got mobbed over here as Snicket, heard he had crowds chasing after him at Hay, but as Handler he's pretty unheard-of.
Almost Fake Edit: June 5th.

What a lovely interview. Handler's hilarious as usual. Thanks for posting this.

Thank you, I really liked this article.
I saw the Death Cab/Handler collaboration! I'm sorry, I felt the need to point that out.
Interesting. I didn't know that. Quite humorous. I wonder what disorder he has/had?

Wow. I'm totally going to admit that I probably wouldn't have read this article without reading Kelcea/Kelsea's comments/quotes. And I've found my own favourite:

Very amusing. I always wondered how DH met his wife. Do you suppose that story really is true?

Oh probably. Although I can't understand how you could faint into someone's lap in a classroom... Maybe it was one of those discussion-tabley ones? Seems appropriate for Chaucer. So cute that they went to university together! Maybe there ARE intelligent, attractive men on campus. I just wish they'd faint in my lap more often.
