This is totally sketchy. While I agree that if Snicketface's section should have a temporary mod until she gets back, she shouldn't be permanently fired without even knowing it.
And a job application is also usually good, though I spose Triangle Eyes will be allright.

Quite a few mods and DD's have weighed in on the situation, most of them suggesting SF temporarily be replaced until she returns. If you ask the staff, they would probably all suggest that an application process of some sort would be better than taking the first volunteer for a staff position.

Eh, it's up to her. Something similiar happened a while back, when both Dante and Snicketfires were on holiday. I asked Trag if I could be temp mod until they came back, and I got the job. No-one complained. because I used my newfound powers to silence them.
But yeah. It all depends on how long Snicketface is going to be away for. She's been grounded for aaaaages, so she may come back in a few days, or be grounded for another age.
That said, it's not as though GGreetings is in desperate need of moderation. It's one of the smaller boards, so unless Triangle Eyes starts editing posts of newcomers to read swearwords, I think we'll be fine.
Then again, a job application can't do anyone nay harm, either. But it's AllDueRespect's decision, so meh.

Ok, this is so not fair. When Dupin left 667 during the Big Shift, I was the first person to ask Tragedy for the mod. job of his area via PM. But Tragedy decides that my asking wasn't good enough and we had to go through applications. Which is perfectly fine. THUS, Triangle Eyes should not be just allowed the job straight off for just asking.

Fair? This is a dictatorship. AllDueRespect could delete the forum, if she wanted, and we would be powerless to stop her. The decision rests with her. And/or Tragedy.
It's not that big a deal, really. I mean, job applications would be nice, but the forums not gonna explode, or even just mildly fizz if we don't get one.

My opinion is that Triangle Eyes would be a great option for a new substitute moderator until SF gets back. I agree to whoever posted it is unfair for SF to be fired for something she has no control over, but a substitute is needed to keep the GGreetins in order. So, TE, in my opinion, is a great substitute and I heartily believe that she will carry out SF's duties well until SF returns. The end.

Just accept that Tragedy probably didn't think you were the right person for the job!

Don't call me a whiner please. Just because you have supreme authority doesn't mean you can insult people with fair opinions. I have the right to ask questions of our admin's choices. I said nothing about Triangle Eyes being the wrong person for the job, but I'm just saying that as a democratic site, people should not be given such prestigous positions (yes GGreetings may be small, but its still a board) just because they Pm the admin. I myself would not apply, but someone who has contributed the same and even more to 667 as TE may want to apply, but never get the chance simply because they thought if any changes were to be made it would happen through here.
The Big Shift was when a large number of old and new members left because of a rather large schism in MM.

[glow=red,2,300]That was the rudest response I have ever heard to someone that was simply voicing her opinion, especially coming from an administrator. He was just pointing something out. There was no "whiny" tone indicated at all in his post (at least in my opinion) but regardless I seriously think you need to learn some respect for other members if you are going to be an administrator on this forum. Even Tragedy wouldn't say something like that. [/glow]

but I'm just saying that as a democratic site... But it isn't democratic. Tragedy, and now AllDueRespect can pretty much do whatever they want. It's only out of the kindness of his heart (or black hole where his heart used to be) that Tragedy has accepted our suggestions or whatnot, giving the illusion of democracy. And because we'd all leave if he started acting like a total jerk. The Big Shift was when a large number of old and new members left because of a rather large schism in MM. I count only four, and they all returned within less than a week.
