In addition to an administrator, 667 would have a queen! Not dark, but beautiful and terrible as the dawn! Treacherous as the sea! Stronger than the foundations of the earth! All shall love her, and despair!
Aside from Snicket taking responsibility for Menacing Miscellaneous, I have one other addition to the moderation team for the New Year.
Fancy (username: snidget) has been appointed co-administrator of 667 Dark Avenue.
I am very optimistic about this move. Her qualification for the job is undeniable. Remember that she is one of the most senior members of 667. She joined in September 2002. Her attendance is solid, especially in the past six months. She has moderating experience (previously Forsaken Fan-Works moderator, currently Sickeningly Secret Section moderator). Her post count reflects steady, quality posting habits. She is an intelligent and responsible person. She is generally removed from forum altercations and so can provide objective evaluations and act accordingly. Most importantly, she works well with me and has a deep understanding of how Dark Avenue is meant to run. She has more knowledge of my underlying policies and philosophies than any other member and can continue them if needed.
In short, this she is not a candidate of change, like... Barack Obama, John Edwards and just about every other presidential hopeful claim to be. That means she probably won't be winning the U.S. election in 2008, but it does make her a strong option for a Lemony Snicket forum with rich traditions and a history of success. I am confident in the path we are taking and she will steady the course even more.
If nothing else, this appointment is an insurance policy. What happens if I die? There are now two members with full administrative powers. This is probably a position I should have filled earlier. Now that I have found a member that I can trust 100%, it is an ideal time to add a co-administrator.
Photographic documentation of this historic event (The Confounded Coronation) can be found on page 161 of the Post Your Picture thread in Menacing Miscellaneous.
That should do it for staff changes this month. Please feel free to PM me with any suggestions for further additions/subtractions. I am happy to receive any suggestions.
Best of luck to all of those in the running for Member of the Year.
