Go to the index and look under "beige coat, medium length." Go to the page that's not 106, and look at the page "Accident at Lucky Smells Lumbermill!" The detective in the middle is wearing a medium-length beige coat.
Any thoughts to the meaning of this?

Lemony Snicket appears to be wearing a medium-length beige coat in some photographs, too, as does the Chapter Ten taxi driver. Maybe the joke is that while no volunteers have found a specific use for it, it's one of the most commonly used generic disguises.

Or, maybe it has specific pockets used for holding different things, like the sugar bowl of the Snicket file. Or maybe not. I'm just saying it doesn't have to be unimportant.

Dear Readers, I always wear a medium-length Beige coat, whenever I'm at the subway, store, or the fancy restaurant below my home. Also I always wear that kind of coat whenever I have photographs of myself. ![:'(](//storage.proboards.com/253263/images/bmKEorKydIUDRidDNwdR.gif)

I think that the medium-length beige coat is a clue to who is a volunteer and who is not. The detective in the middle could be on either side of the schism, but he is on one or the other.

Wasn't Jim Carrey wearing a medium-length beige coat when disguised as Stephano in the ASOUE movie?
