I would have to check TGG, but if she is, he would have loved her before she became the Bauds' mother. So technically, the weren't the same woman. Possible? Stretching it? Even so, listing them in a list as seperate people would be a bit much. And Lemony ALWAYS loved Beatrice. Question 9 anyone?

I agree with Gigi that all the letters from Beatrice were written by Beatrice 2. It would be very Snickety to leave us with nothing at all in the words of Beatrice 1, LS's love. I believe he intends for her to remain a mystery forever.
I'm still resisting the idea that Beatrice 1 is the Baud's mom, but I'm not sure why. The telegram is pretty obviously written to the Baud mom, so I guess my resistance is futile, as they say.
I'm also puzzled and intrigued about Beatrice 1's co-star. Could that word be used to refer to different people at different times? Or is it always a reference to the same person? Why would the co-star be referred to as living on a brae, a phrase which was also used to describe Lemony, when Lemony is obviously NOT the co-star?
I like PJ's idea of looking at Lemony's answers to Beatrice's questions and trying to guess what the questions could be.

Argh, I think you lot may be right. There's no hard evidence that the last letter is from Beatrice 1, especially since all the others are from Beatrice 2. It IS signed "Beatrice Baudelaire", and both Beatrices were baticeers, so that's no help at all, but she WAS above Lemony's office, and the actual contents of the letter also indicate that it is Beatrice 2 "and I will leave and never try to contact you again." Seems a bit harsh if it was just a date...
Yeah, I think it's Beatrice 2, now. Ten-year old girl, though, screws up the timeline somewhat. Since this is sposed to be AFTER the End, Beatrice 2 would have to be born after Klaus, but before Sunny...hmmm. She also signs with "B." Instead of the usual "Beatrice Baudelaire". It's entirely possible that she found Lemony's first letter to Beatrice, and decided to imitate the style, perhaps to underline some kind of relation she has with Beatrice 1.
As for the whole "TGG" thing, I'm quite sceptical. I mean, there ARE two Beatrice Baudelaires. Both of them are tied intrinsically to the Baudelaire case, but one of them is far too young to be the mother. So unless Beatrice 1 is Bertrand's sister, and Beatrice 2 is Beatrice 1's daughter, whom the Baudelaires have never ever mentioned (shouldn't they go to them for adoption? Perhaps Beatrice 1 was already dead at this time, and Beatrice 2 was at an orphanage, or had run away). Oh, and Beatrice 1 is married to someone else and is pregnant. It all fits, and I'm inclined to believe that she is the Baudmum.

This thread is getting confusing because we're all questioning different aspects of the book. I guess it would be bad at this point to clutter up the forum with separate threads, though.

Yea, I don't think Dante and Snicketfires want too many threads just yet. Keep it all here for now.
(But you're right. It is confusing.)

By the way, PJ, at the Duchess of Winnipeg's masked ball, Beatrice was dressed as a dragonfly, not a butterfly. I wondered if the mention of a butterfly costume was an error when I read it in TBL. Perhaps he's saying that she ditched the butterfly costume, but got another one very similar for the masked ball.
Edit: Just found on Wikipedia, Lemony Snicket's iTunes playlist, a reference from TBL:
Track 7: "Sonata No.9, Op.68 "Black Mass"" by Vladimir Horowitz "Alexander Scriabin thought that he could bring about the end of the world if he composed the proper symphony. He died before this task could be completed, which is perhaps why the world has not yet ended."
Scriabin's Anniversary was the date of LS to BB #3.

Question: Do the punch-out letters spell "A Brae Snicket" or "Beatrice Sank" I got "A Brae Snicket".

Both. The book blurbs indicate that the letters should be arranged and re-arranged many times.

Not that this is significant at all, but "the letters" also can be used to spell out "Kit's Cab." But like I said, it's probably not siginificant at all, because the remaining letters don't spell anything (unless of course Kit's middle name is Ranee).

I noticed that the Beatrice writing in TBL said that she shares initials with someone else, but not that she shared a name with someone else. This leaves the possibility (probability?) that the elder Beatrice had a different last name.

In TUA (in chapter 2) Snicket suspects that an imposter has taken over R's identity. Connection? Seems likely. What do you think? This could actually be a very crucial fact in the series. There has been a reference to R. in books 10,11 and 12 at least, and I think he's trying to tell us something! Please discuss.

Maybe it is true that Beatrice 2 is 10 years old, and is V, K, and S's sibling. (I know a lot of people think that her age is a disguise.) I always thought it was weird that there's like more than 10 years between Sunny and Klaus. I know it happens, but it's still unusual.
And Gigi mentioned that "not sisters" thing which could be a code (from TPP I think)... maybe Sunny isn't really their sister. I don't know, don't you guys think the age gap is a bit huge?

In LS to BB #4, there is a coffee mug stain, indicating that some villanous person has read it. The letter was missent to someone (I think it's R...but the writing is weird). Could this mean that R. is villanous? And perhaps she intercepted the message on purpose, instead of because of the bats' lack of training?[/quote]

Perhaps BB to LS #6 was a last attempt by Beatrice 2 to get into contact with Lemony. This definitely suggests that she was related in some way to Beatrice 1, and was trying to show her connection to her in order to get Lemony's attention. Maybe Beatrice 2 even felt bad about the fact that Beatrice 1 couldn't marry Lemony, and was trying to make up for it by responding to his first letter in a kinder way (this would have to mean that she found his first letter, which is actually quite possible, as I believe she says she found letters from Lemony on his desk).
