Hey ! I've made a new topic about something wich has confused a lot of people during a long time... In LSUA, there's a commentary about the young boy wich has played Young Rölf in "Zombies in the snow..." "whose names escapes me -- Omar, maybe ?" It's a bit confusing, because many would think that Olaf was young during the making of this film and blahblahblah(insert chronological and scenaristic plotholes here)blah. But I've just tought something : could it have been Omeros ? He's the same age as Klaus, after all, and that would explain why Sally mistook his name with Omar.

That's not a bad idea, actually - the only way we can really fix Zombies in the Snow now is by fair ignoring what Handler probably intended. To which end, here's a theory I came up with the other day: It wasn't Gustav working on the film, but an impostor (given that Gustav must have been drowned by Olaf before the coded dialogue about Monty's new assistant was scripted) who was trying to draw in the Baudelaires and Monty for their own purposes. The warning about Stephano in the coded dialogue would either have been to prevent any possible suspicion from Monty about the message or because the impostor in question was a rival of Olaf (or even a noble person committing a necessary evil). This probably creates several problems of its own (for example, Sally Sebald being taken in by the impostor), but in my opinion it fixes several as well. Other possibilities include Sally Sebald having another brother in addition to Gustav who she refers to ambiguously in her letter. Or Sally Sebald herself being an impostor or liar, I guess.
But yes, I quite like that - if the name Olaf can be mistaken for Omar, Omeros could easily be mistaken for Omar. It works almost too well as a plot hole filler.

It's sounds like an excellent theory! But who is Omaros and where does he come up in the series?

He's introduced in Chapter Four I believe, along with the other castaways.

Its a great theory, but I think its being a litte too lenient on Snickets linking of the books. Much of what was alluded too in LSUA never really is resolved or comes to light past TSS, and while it could be a possiblity, I think Omeros really is just his own character, unrelated to Sebald affairs.

Great theory. Did it ever say anything in TE about Omeros being an actor?
