Not many people remember things not as important like this: Omar. In Lemony Snicket: The Unauthorized Autobiography, we read that Omar was in Zombies in the Snow. This name was also in TVV, when Jacques is called Omar. Discuss.

It would be more accurate to say that Count Olaf's name was incorrectly reported as being Count Omar; Jacques was believed to be Olaf. But that's by the by; the persence of somebody who may have been named Omar (Sally Sebald wasn't sure of his name) in Zombies in the Snow is generally interpreted as indicating that Olaf was in the film as a youngster (and that Sebald was the director who "discovered" him as a child, as related in TCC); however, the film should have been shot recently, to account for the very context-specific coded dialogue in it, and for this reason it's been suggested that we can retroactively say that the actor was in fact Omeros from The End, a boy of about Klaus's age, which'd be nearer the mark.
