Do you think there could me more than one Lemony Snicket? I read TBL last night, and something isn't right there. We know that there is more than one Beatrice Baudelaire
This is evident because we know that the letters from Beatrice are from the baby when she is an older child, because her letters seem to show that she does not know Lemony and hasn't been drinking root beer floats with him every night...
It's odd though, that baby Bea would be called Baudelaire, because really she is a Snicket. It's evident that BB doesn't know she's a Snicket, because she would have written "dear uncle" rather than "dear sir".
Looking at the two 'cards' in TBL, they are both written by 10-11 year olds. So either the Beatrice card at the back was written by the Baudelaire mother when she went to school with the 'original' Lemony, or there is a new younger Lemony (or an 11 year old boy calling himself LS), or the two cards really have nothing to do with each other at all.

I assume that baby Beatrice is known as a Baudelaire because she was raised by the Baudelaires; how much they told her about her parentage is unclear, but the Baudelaires themselves make it clear in Chapter Fourteen that they don't know who Lemony is, so even if baby Beatrice knew her mother was called Kit Snicket (and I think it'd be difficult for the Baudelaires to justify keeping this from her, unless they were separated when she was very young) she wouldn't necessarily make the connection to Lemony Snicket. The calling card in the front of the book, LS to BB #1, was from Lemony to Beatrice (the Baudelaires' eventual mother) when they were both young and at school. The calling card in the back of the book, BB to LS #6, is from Beatrice (Kit Snicket's child) to... here's where I disagree with majority opinion. Majority opinion seems to be that Beatrice is writing once again to Lemony Snicket. My theory on the subject differs (and agrees with one of your suggestions), and also takes into account TBL's themes of cyclic history, repetitions, and parallels: I don't believe the calling card was compatible or directly followed on, in tone, style, or situation, with Beatrice's previous letter to Lemony. That letter had an air of finality about it quite different to the almost casual tone of the calling card, which could easily be about something else or to someone else. The calling card shares much in common with the calling card Lemony sent Beatrice when they were children (note the flipped colour scheme from red on white to white on red - they're parallels, like much else in The End and in TBL). Combined with the fact that young Beatrice shares several qualities with Lemony himself, and the fact that many individuals have the same initials, and (to a lesser extent) the fact that we were promised an unhappily ever after... I think young Beatrice has developed a habit of drinking root beer floats at the café, and, while there, found herself quite impressed with another young lad of about the same age as her, and that maybe they'll start to spend a lot of time together, and that this will lead to an unfortunate event where she'll never be happy again. She's the Lemony Snicket figure of the future, the same names recurring again and again through time. The cycle of misfortune goes on, forever. The End. How's that for pessimism?

You're probably right.
However, recurring names does make a story hard to tell!

It just adds to all the complete and chaotic confusion of the books.

I think that all the letters are from Kit's child, Beatrice. In one of her letters she says, "My name is Beatrice Baudelaire. I am searching for my family--Violet Baudelaire, Klause Baudelaire, and Sunny Baudelaire." If she was the real Beatrice Baudelaire, she would probably know where they would be. She would be in contact with other memebers. EDIT: Sorry I meant she would know about them from the newspapers!! Reason for Editing: Not wanting to double post
