I think that Daniel Handler / Lemony Snicket would be more likely to write a sort of spin-off - a story that uses the elements of the setting, like V.F.D. and the copious literary/historical/other allusions, but which doesn't directly connect to the Baudelaires' tale. It might share a few characters, though. While he's spent a lot of time with the aSoUE setting, there might be elements of it that he thinks he hasn't explored enough or would like to look at in greater detail. I'd expect it to be a single stand-alone novel, too. Although if it did fulfil all those conditions, it might be more like an official fanfiction.

You know what would be really cool? Like a VFD training guide. I know the UA had some parts if this (Disguise training) but maybe like a whole book. We could learn the secrets of VFD, and learn how to become members ourselves. A book following the Quagimires would be cool too.

You know what would be really cool? Like a VFD training guide. The Puzzling Puzzles is secretly a V.F.D. Field Training Guide.

I thought Horseradish would be like that...but it wasn't. I agree with you. Thought 'the bitter truths' is the history of VFD.

Well, the Uglies series did a behind-the-scenes book written by the author - it explained how their world came to be and had hoverboard manuals, and such... This is what I'd wish to see in the future from Lemony. Just a taste would keep us going forever. However, the Uglies universe wasn't a big secret, and I do believe Lemony wrote it this was to keep us sharp and alert. If we got all the answers at once, what's the point of thought? I think he wrote the series to inspire conversation and pondering, so I don't believe we'll ever get all the answers we want.
