In The Unauthorised Autobiography, page 105, there is a picture of an old man (D, but calling himself B) standing in front of a truck that is supposedly B, but calling herself D. Maybe it's just me, but doesn't that truck look like the truck from the pictures on pages 199 (Great Britain), 202 and 204 (Very Fast Delivery)? Just an idea. Please post if you have any theories.

It's the same truck, and it looks to me like it wasn't in those photographs originally; it was put there for a reason. Obviously that reason never came to anything particularly important, but Daniel Handler did say in an interview what the truck was for ( number 27): "To carry a coffin" (This is probably related to the preceding question number 26.) A few things mentioned in that interview seem to have been changed or to have not come to an awful lot - it was given before TCC had been released - but parts of it are still helpful to pick up the pieces.

That not such a bad book. What I love about Lemony Snicket is that he make these cool pages that are like ILLUSIONS. Like the last page where the index shows up, right?

About this post...it axly says that D but calling herself B is behind the man. Read it again and see what I mean. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/253263/images/vHm0CvggshBxsJbbcONU.gif)

I believe the exact quote is "In the second photograph (C), the same volunteer (still B, but calling herself D), has dramatically altered herself using the V.F.D. disguise kit and is now completely unrecognizable, particularly with the older gentleman (D, but calling himself B) standing in front of her." So the old man is D. and the truck is B.
