If it isn't already in use, Proboards offers a warning system. It appears under a members name. On it, staff can place a warning number ranking from 0-100. Beaneath it they can leave comments. It can be viewed by just the admin, admin and staff, or everyone on the forum. I can see this as being a really good way to keep track of how many warnings and strikes a member has. The number ranking wouldn't be particuarly useful, but in the comments, how many warnings/strikes the person has recieved can be viewed.

It probably is a good idea, but I've seen how it comes out and it makes the space under the avatar all crowded looking.

Well, it can only be seen by staff (optionally) so it doesn't matter much.

We already have it, but it's like karma. It can be disabled and abled in the admin area. Besides, there is already an area in your profile that staff members can leave messages and info in.

It is already insabled? Well, then my suggestion would be that it could be viewed by all staff instead of just the administrative.

I'm not sure if it was disabled or not.

Bleh. Seems complicated and weird. It's makes people look bad.
And helps ADR more easily punish people.

If we enabled this option (assuming it hasn't already been enabled but is available solely to g-mods or admins), then for moderators to edit warning levels and see a person's account notes, they'd have to be given the power to edit other members' profiles (which would give them access to e-mails, passwords, etc.) or moderators would simply have to ask a g-mod or admin to change a person's warning level whenever they were punished, which could cause delay or confusion. In addition, it'd probably require the warning/strike system to be overhauled to give more freedom in the punishment level being handed out (if we were only supposed to give a specific percentage punishment for each offence or for individual offences, then that would be little different to the strike system we have now). I should note, though, in response to the comments about how it looks, that the admin can choose whether to display it in addition to or instead of the member group.
