I don't know what to think. Help me out on this. Do you think violent films, video games, swearing music and all stuff like that for children should be banned? Because, no wonder crimes and stuff like that happen so much... do YOU think violent video games, music with swearing, and films and stuff alike influence people....or, specifically, kids?

Even if they did ban it, children would think that swearing was more of a risk and would do it more just to show off to friends. If children can't take their violence out on a computer game they will resort to street crime. Also, many songs such as Eminem and even the Red hot Chilli Peppers (!!!!) would be banned, and i don't want that to happen!

Probably Eminem. But, may I ask -- why the Chilis?? C'mon Aimee, if they were bad do you think posh-arsed Byron would like them?

No, there is swearing in their songs. Haven't you heard them?! They are brilliant and we mustn't ban them!

Yes but only a FEW swear words, if any. What I meant, as in song-wise, were songs like Eminem and various rappers who having nothing BUT swearing in them

Yes, but that is not the point. They wouldn't ban thse songs, the would just be censored like they do now.

NOOOOOOOOOOO! NOT MY VIDEO GAMES! AGHHHHHHHHHHH!
ok, sorry. anyway, violent games and movies are entertainment and not meant to be anything more than that. they're not guidelines for a way for people to act. they do not create angry people, angry people are created by others or even by themselves.
violence in video games is sometimes even a good way for kids to rid themselves of physical violence!
edit: by the way, ive read johnny the homicidal maniac a lot of times. ;D

If someone kills their mom because they think their TV told them to, they were potato ed up before they played/watched whatever. I have Pikmin and Manhunt on the same shelf, and I can pretty much say that I don't have the active desire to kill anything. Except for, you know, people who don't exist.

No.
And is you don't want children watching films and playing on video games that are violent, there are age certificates. And, yes I know that most people don't follow that rule, but I don't think these things influence them to do anything and if this stuff does, it's they're own fault for watching or playing on it in the first place.

Yeah Silent Hill rocks!
And NIN would be banned. That would be unbearable.

I don't think eminem should be banned! No way! He's the best. Though I don't think little kids should listen to his music, but if you actually listen to the words in his songs, they're really truthful and meaningful. He sings about his own life experiences and things like putting a stop to racism and discrimination. He's not all bad=)
I don't think video games, violent movies and songs have as much of an influence on children as they're made out to be. In the end it doesn't matter what they listen to or watch, it's up to them to be responsible for their actions. Anyway, young children, say under 13 shouldn't be listening to or watching them anyway, and if they do, that's their parent's responsibilities to either put a stop to ot, or decide what's best. Some children are sensible and wouldn't swear or copy the films and music they hear, but some would, and if that's the case, then their parents shouldn't allow it. The government or whoever can't ban music, games or music because of irresponsible children or parents, beacause mature teenagers and adults watch them, so why should they be denied their entertainment?
