what exactly are your views on heaven and hell? I think of heaven pretty much the same way as I heaven is portrayed in the book The Lovely Bones, however I believe that hell is where your soul goes if you are a bad person. I think it is a black nothingness where your soul is all alone. It has to be with itself. Its odd I don't think its really a concious thing I think it is just an eternity of pain. Its a lot different from the firey pits and the devil. I think the devil is more of a metaphor. A representation of temptation, greed, jealousy, etc.

I don't think of the devil as a metaphor... from how I've studied the bible the devil seems to be a fallen angel of God, one of the most powerful ones.. Lucifer, in other words.. I haven't read the book The Lovely Bones- would you mind telling me about it?
I think of Heaven as basicly where God and all his Angels dwell, and souls that have been saved by Jesus Christ. Hell, the direct opposite of Heaven. I do think the firey image thats placed in our minds isn't true. More of an infinite abyss of darkness, full of screaming souls. Scary thought.

Scary thought. sorry but it would take too long to explain the lovely bones. I've read the bible too, but I think it speaks in mysterious ways, in revelations they talk about these monsters that will come at the end of the world, but really I think they mean the monsters are horrible conflicts that man (or technology) has brought upon itself. I odn't think the authors of the bible saw space probes coming. The bible in my opinion speaks in riddles and metaphors, but thats just me. What religion are you? I'm methadist.

I believe in black nothingness. I believe Death is like going to sleep, but never having dreams.
Or reincarnation.
Maybe heven and hell. No one goes ot hell unless they were a Hitler level of bad. Heaven is what you make of it. Heaven can be...just...I don't know, a library with tons and tons of books on whatever you want. Or...Earth, only with no pain. Whatever you want. You want to live in a house made of quarters? Then that's what you live in there....

In the Bible, there is a scripture that talks about hell, it is called the common grave of man. And there is another scripture that describes being dead as asleep, without any dreams...

I know what you mean. I think in Hebrew they use two worlds for Hell on of which is Sheol (I think it's supposed to be like sleep) and the other I think is Geehena (spelling mistake there) which is like suffering.

I don't believe in Hell. To me, Heaven is like Earth, but, well, all natural. Humans walk around naked (have you ever wondered about the purpose of clothes? I have) and there is no electricity; no energy, really.
And I hate it, hate it, HATE IT when people say to me "Oh, you're going to go to Hell because you don't believe Jesus Christ was the son of God." (I'm Jewish, by the way. If that offends you, deal with it because I'm not prejudiced towards your religion whatever it may be.) Look, if that's what you believe fine, but you don't just go up to someone and say "You're damned." Plus, if there really is a Hell, then wouldn't it make sense that righteous people go there instead of just Christians?

Wouldnt you like to have clothes if you lived above or below the equator?
I sortof hate that too.. If people are going go around saying your going to hell because you dont believe in Jesus, at least they could sit you down, share a cup of coffee and tell you why and explain to you Christianity.

I don't think anyone has a right to tell other people that they're going to Hell or Heaven. It's not for any human to decide other than yourself, and God.
(Said from a very Christian point of view... but this type of thing can be applied to everyone)
