I just don't get the appeal of this weird 17 or 18 year-old teen with made up spells trying to save the school from the same enemy. Over. And over again.

All right. He's appealing to you. I respect that. I just don't like him.

Oh wow. Choice number 2 made me realize it's been over 10 years since I started the series. Another reason to love Harry Potter! Grew up with him. Not that I'm grown up, really. But still, when I read Sorcerer's Stone, I was 11, so when each book came out I was never far from him in age. He's like a best friend.

I used to love the books! I was soooo in love with Ron. I think it was around book 5 when the series started to appear not so appealing to me (and perhaps I had too much of that ridiculous spell casting).

Aww. I love Harry Potter! I reread the books backwards (7th-1st) before watching the latest movie. I think my Potter-mania-ness managed to die away at the moment...it'll come back, though.

I used to like it when I was about nine. I even had a(n obsession) crush on Rupert Grint. But then when I was about twelve, I went off it. I loathe it now.

You mean the whole series or the character?Because Harry Potter (the character) is really not a favorite of mine in HP.I'm VERY fond of the Harry Potter series, I find J.K. Rowling a terrific writer.I did use to be a major fan but I found myself in reading other series like Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and/or ASoUE, my favorite.

You mention the seemingly monotonous pattern that the series follows, can I remind you of the fact that ASOUE is much more rabid in this? "Hey, a new guardiarn/s who is/are weird and incapable." "AHHH, FRACK, IT'S OLAF!" *havoc* "Phew we escaped, to some extent. And figured out some neat stuff using inventions, books, and biting. Sure glad to be rid of Olaf!"
*raaaah, unanswered questions ensue*
Nothing against ASOUE, but if you're gonna pick on patterns in Harry Potter... Well, read the above.

That's about the only flaw I can think up for ASoUE, it's too repetitive, at least in the first books, then the Bauds get charged with murder and the fun begins.I've still got to read the final five books though, so I can't discuss TCC, TSS, TGG, TPP and TE.
But as for HP goes, I don't think it suffers from that particular flaw, I think the books have a very good pace, and the series gets darker and darker as they go from the first few books who are childish (look I'm 11 and I'm a wizard!) but the final 4, ok, 3 books are REALLY GOOD.^^That's just my opinion though.

If you hate Harry Potter, why are you in this section?
I modified your post, so now it has the content from both posts. About the double posting, use the "modify" button when you have something else to say. Thanks.
