So to post a thread saying "heyyy guyz did u know lotr was christain-based" is asking for a bit of mockery, frankly. No saying "Hey guys, mock me! Just a little bit." is asking for a bit of mockery. Some people ojn the forum may not have the intelligence standards you require but that doesn't mean you should mock them. Nina could prove her point better and list her arguements in a clear way but I'm tired of all the abuse to those kinds of members. So basically, in my sections the rudeness stops. Theres a joking way to say things and then theres cruelty which it seems a lot of people happily display on this forum. So being sarcastic means I'm being cruel? I will have to live in fear or posting in your section then, and many other members besides.

Seriously, what's so hard about "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all"? You people can't honestly tell me that you've never been sarcastic, or that you've never made fun of someone else. I'm not even "out to get her", I just see something I think is idiculous and use sarcasm to bring my opinion across. If you think you have to stop all forms of mockery, sarcasm and any other thing in which one person is not friendly to another, then you will certainly fail.

I'm hugely sarcastic but thats toward members I know. I'm just using this thread as an example that some of the mockery has to stop. This isn't the only time its happened and usually its worse. Its pathetic to make fun of new members or those you feel are inferior just because you can. It's also pathetic to subtly insult with me when I'm only doing my job and asking you to be a little more respectful. What a monster I am.
So if you want to discuss this further feel free to PM me, but please don't start bashing me on other parts of the forum because you didnt like what I said. You thought Nina's theory was dumb? You're acting like you're in second grade.

*grins* Yes, the silmarillion has tons of christian parallels, and as Elijah Wood even came out and said in the rotk commentary, Sauron is basically a fallen angel, and Melkor is almost Lucifer. Almost. And how he dug himself in the underground tunnels of Utumno and Angband and such remind one of hell. And of course Gandalf's description of the afterlife to pippin in the rotk movie...
So it's not THAT dumb of a theory, but just because someone new didn't present their first theory perfectly, you don't have to bash the newbies. I usually wait till they do something dumb 5 times in a row knowing that's not the right thing to do before I start that game.

I agree, and I also think that ALOT of stories have a Christian subtext, even if it's unintentional.

Yeah, I'd say that they are Christian based. But Narnia was WAY more obvious. I mean, Narnia is like the most allegoric book I've EVER read other than Pilgrim's Progress! ;DBut there's nothing wrong with that, right? ;D I FOUND THE NARNIA BOOKS IN A STORE CALLED BEREAN BOOKSTORE (BOOKSTORE, MY ASS) AND THE ONLY OTHER BOOKS IN SIGHT WERE BIBLES, DOES THAT TELL YOU SOMETHING???
