Now, is that book going to be released under the Lemony Snicket moniker - and be marketed to the youth? If so, I'd be interested in checking it out. I guess it would be his first non-ASOUE novel under the Lemony Snicket moniker.
I wonder how he'd fit himself into that one. I foresee one of two possibilities:
1. The book would be set in the universe of ASOUE, but not really related to any characters from the established series - except for, possibly, a cameo appearance.
2. It's a different universe where a character named Lemony Snicket also exists.

The solution is simply that anything related to aSoUE is ignored. TCiD may well take place in the same setting, but it doesn't have to. (Also, Lemony Snicket isn't in it; he just writes it.)

As I understand it, it's not a novel, just a short story; and there are already several short stories under the Lemony Snicket name. If you like, you can think of them as stories which Lemony Snicket, the character, has written.

Thanks for your help, you guys! Well, in that case, I do wonder if Daniel Handler has any plans for more novels under the Lemony Snicket moniker. I'd be curious to see how that would work out. Anyway, hermes, I do like your idea.
